We don't always get the luxury of being out there with enough time to peg the nets and then let the players go. Ice time is very limited and if they have to do their warmup with a non pegged net I'm sure they'd rather have that then a shortened third.

Luxury? It takes 10 seconds to get the net in place and put the pegs in. This ain't a barn raising.

Just to clarify something, i wasnt playing goal at the time. I was just pegging the net for my goalie to be nice, its interesting how a nice deed goes punished isnt it?

Is he from Dallas? I hear the leagues up there are chock-full of assholes. Most guys in Austin know better than that. Not all, but most.

Lucky, I only got 2 minutes of warm up and 10 minute periods :(

Ah, we do at least get 13 minute periods, which for our league and team size (13 skaters per team) I think is about right.

and it takes one second for a player to step on the ice and fire a puck towards the net. Often the pucks are out first, and we're stepping out as the players are. Don't get me wrong, I do my best to peg the net everytime right when I get out there, but it's rare that we are ever out and waiting for the players.
