Easton S17 or S19

Recommended Posts

I am in need of a stick for a game tonight. I has been using ST's but they are out of stock (LHS) now. Between a S17 @ $160 and a S19 at $210 which would you choose? Is the 19 going to be worth the extra money? I keep seeing S17's at large discount everywhere.

It's cause they're last years stick. Had 2 S17's and my only problem was the blade. Got soft fast and just deteriorated. Mine ended up splitting at the toe. I believe the S19 has fixed this, so if you want something that is going to last then I'd spend the extra $50 of you'll probably be buying a new S17 in a couple months (assuming you're on the ice a couple times a week).

$210 is a damn good deal for the S19. i'd throw down the extra fiddy. especially since it's a noted improvement over the S17.

He has a game tonight..He obviously does not have time to wait, but not sure why anyone who plays a lot would continually spend $200+ on sticks that break on a regular basis. I spend my $$ on a good shaft and blade combo. Will last at least twice as long as an OPS. S19's, even tho more durable than the S17 apparently are still not as durable as the ST or even the Bauer One95.

thanks for the feedback. I got the S19- it is pretty nice, though I cant compare it to the S17 obviously. Much nicer than the ST but for the cost it better be. I did see that deal on Hockeymonkey- nice price.

You will be happy with the S19. I have one and a few of my teammates use the S19. Everyone that I know that uses it loves it. I have had mine for 7 months and it is still going strong

If you are used to the ST, switching to an S17 or S19 could be weird for a few games. Especially S17. The release on that twig is so weird man. S19 is a better but the feel is for guys with good hands only pretty much. Biscuits roll off the blade alot easier than ST. Anyways. I would go with the S19 for the extra 50. It is a huge improvement from the S17. And it is more durable than the S17.

God call, stick with the S19. Broke 2 S17s this month. 1st was my fault. The 2nd I got slammed into the boards in a non-check adult league semi-final. Stick came up and hit the glass, not all that hard and broke on impact. Both sticks broke right where the hossle and shaft meat. My understanding is this isn't an uncommon problem with the S17. Bought an S19 today.
