Video isn't great but the incident looked pretty accidental so I can see why he blew up over the call. Still way over the top though.

EDIT: The video should start playing at 2m30s but if it isn't then fast forward to that point.

You should hear the way the incident sounded on our radio broadcast from the Bulldogs point of view. A little different, I must say.

It certainly appears that the video was edited for the benefit of Playfair and the heat.

What really makes me laugh is the fact that he may have been the best coach the Flames have had post lockout, and he'll be remembered for imitating the hulk on ice. Interestingly enough, the only person not laughing is Milbury, because that stunt may have cost him the number one spot on some Sportscentre Top 10.

Yeah, the player he grabs the stick from doesn't even look up, he's just like, cool, whatever. I guess it's different if you don't really buy your own sticks, but I'd be at least slightly annoyed if someone grabbed my stick and broke it over the boards like that. ;)

The player to the right looks a little shocked. Puts his hand up to defend his face a couple times and looks like he's on the verge of laughter. And I wouldn't care if I pay for my sticks or not. If someone broke one that I was using I would be pissed.

I'm not sure I like the fact that during the NBC Intermission, both McGuire and Milbury seemed to defend Playfair's tirade.

I'm all for coaches being emotional, and if they have to - going off from time to time...but that seemed WAY over the top, and made him look like an idiot. Think of the difference:

Roger Neilson with the white towel...and Playfair tearing off his jacket like a d'bag.

I thought they'd play good cop, bad cop...and one would say they liked it and the other would say it was wrong...but they both said it was a "good thing" to see...really?
