Cutom Eagle Pants

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone on the board that can get the PPF pants for a custom (size) order without me ordering for an entire team? I can't seem to find anything out and I know Eagle only sells through retailers. Anyone want to help a brother out?

For that matter does anyone have a pair of these...or can anyone tell me more abut them?

Thanks!

I am almost positive that you can order a single pair of custom pants through Eagle without doing a team order. It's much like ordering a pair of custom gloves from them. If you go to your local hockey shop, they should be able to do it for you.

I don't have a LHS and I have not been able to get anything from them direct in the past. Do you know if they have a form for the pants? So far I have not been able to find anything.

Yep! They look like great pants, but if you can't find them they don't do us a lot of good! I'll let you know what I find out...or subscribe and find out yourself.

See you on BC2!

They're the old Tackla 5000 pros. I got quoted 249.99cdn for a pair from my LHS a few weeks back and they would have to order them.

I have two pair of Tacklas in 60..but they're one piece..and with my personal inner tube of a belly..the Kidney pads always end up pushing the pants down even with suspenders, but they help a little. The best solution I've found so far is from a pair of two piece tackla 56's, and just using the outers with the belt. But I'm left with no hip/tail pads. I've been considering a Girdle/Shell, but they do the same thing with the kidney/back pieces. I'd like to get a custom girdle without the upper kidney pads. Plus it's hard finding 2-3xl shells in all the various colors us whores like to collect.

Is that like $99 usd? :P

I had heard that they were 5000s just not how to get them in a custom size. Maybe you could order them for me from you LHS and send them to me? ;)

I'm with you...I have one pair of Tacklas and they are like a diaper...

I want a girdle/shell also but this may be a nice comprimise.

I've heard the Eagles are made by the same people that make Tacklas. If that is the case they're probably a pretty decent hockey pant. Can anyone confirm this is the case?

Honestly, if you're heavier set you'd probably be happier with Bauer, Easton or Reebok(520, avoid the 7000) pro pants.

I have a problem with the legs in Tackla pants. Even with the hamstring pad removed, they're too tight(comfort-wise) for my legs.

who you callin heavy set?

I'm big boned!

Tacklas fit fine if they are the right size. I want a two piece pant though and these seem like they will work...I just need to custom the size and it says they offer them...how do I order them? Better yet who can I order them through as I have no LHS?!?!?!?!

Ok let me put this another way...I don't have a LHS (so chill)...I need to order some custom Eagle PPF pants (big size, couple extra lowers)...they will not sell them to me (which I support 100%).

Is there an Eagle retailer on the board that would like to earn some business on a custom Eagle order? I've used someone before but I forget who it was. PM me or post here!

Thanks!

I don't know how big you are but I'm a pretty big guy at 290 or so.. most times closer to 300. As a goaltender I used to wear Itech RX9 in XXL and they were pretty snug. If I gained 2 pounds, I would feel it in my pants lol.

Now that I'm back at playing forward, I had Reebok 5K in XL that used to fit when I was at 270.. but not anymore. I went shopping for XXL pants and ended up getting CCM Vector 6 pants in XL as they fitted bigger than most pants out there. I'm 6 foot tall by the way if that helps and wear size 42 pants for the most part.

You may always shoot an email to John Brown (search the net for John Brown goalie gear). He does custom size goalie pants. Maybe he'll be willing to try his hand at making a custom size player pant. Who knows. Probably won't but it's worth trying.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the feedback, but I really want a pair of the Eagle PPF pants.

I've loved my Tacklas, but I want/need these!

Anyone?

btw...just to settle any bets...I'm 6'3" and every bit of 300 lbs. but I'm sweet on the inside like a big teddy bear

Really? I'm 6' 0"/~220 and the L fits me as well as L's in Mission & Easton. Are they supposed to be more a form fitting like Tackla?

We're really talking about guys that are wearing larger than a L pant size, look at the other weights posted.

I'm with you there and my M Jofas fit just fine, albeit a little short. I normally wear a L in pants.

Well still no luck with these pants...maybe it's time to try something else.

Does anybody have any recommendations on other two piece pants? Would need a XXL so keep that in mind.

Thanks!

I was going to add or ask if Eagle still made custom pants or gloves for that matter. They were bought by Vaughn a year or so ago and I don't know what Vaughn's plans have been since regarding player gloves and pants.

As for XXL, there are a couple of brands out there who make XXL pants but I can't seem to find any in stock right now. Like I said, we're both pretty much the same size and I fit in XL CCM Vector 6 pants so you may want to try them on if you can. I wear size 42 for the most part and they fit ok. I can't tie the velcro strap up front but I can get in and out of the pants easily.

Graf makes pants up to 58 which is XXXL but doesn't seem like Hockey Monkey has them in stock. Probably a special order which seems to be the case with pretty much all the other brands who go up to XXL.

Also, you may want to email John Brown to see if he would make you a pair of player pants even though he specializes in goalie equipment. Who know, he may be able to do something for you. johnbrown52@gmail.com

So check these options out. Call Hockey Monkey and Hockey Giant to see if they take special orders over the phone for sizes they don't have in stock and email John just for the hell of it. It will be a bit more pricy than going with Hockey Monkey or Giant to order a pair of pants that they don't carry in stock but at least it will be adjusted perfectly to your body if he ever agrees on making a pair of player pants for you.

I klnow they do gloves (through an authorized dealer), but they don't seem to be set up to do the pants yet.

XXXLs (size 58 or 60) are tough to come by...I'll have to keep an eye out for some unless Eagle (or one of thier resellers) comes through.

I'll email John and see if has any intrest in doing player pants...thanks again for the input!

I'm just saying that they fit me like my other pants and I'm a reasonably big guy, I'm sure someone whos a little heavier might need a bigger size than L. I recently changed my L lowers for XL lowers to get the extra length, now the pants come down as far as the top of my knees. Might be something worth looking into, works well for me!

Well just throwing this out there but Michel Ferland is getting back into retail with his MF2 company. (mf2hockey.com) I think they are starting out by pushing their glove line but it looks they do custom pants as well -kinda Euro style Eagle/Tackla type pants. I know that they are just starting retail in the USA. Someone I know just ordered from them and their customer service has been amazing (even got an email from Michel Ferland himself). Try their website and find the US rep. Tell me what you find out because I have a lot of "relaxed muscle" as well with the added trouble of being the height and proportions of a small troll (think mini Shrek). I would be interested to see what options they have.

Will do...I think if these folks got on the ball they could sell some pants to us bigger guys...not sure what's holding them back except I understand the patterns may be hand cut instead of die cut.

We'll see who want to get the big guy market...

I emailed them today and will let you know what I find out. Eagle had decided not to make it easy to get multiple lowers (i.e. you cant without ordering the complete pant). While I think I'm going to go ahead and order a pair anyway it has led me to looking for a potential girdle and shell option. I think it would all have to be custom but I think I may have a source for the shell if I can find a girdle. Anyone know if a XXL or XXXL girdle exists or could be made? I'll keep up the hunt for all the big guys!
