CCM Pro U+ Reloaded

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys;

I know these haven't been out long but I'd like some intial thoughts and opinons on this newest of CCM skates. I'm thinking of getting them for the upcoming season. Yes, I finally may be straying away from Eastons for the first time in many years.

Well I got these a couple of weeks ago, I'm coming from SE6s and the Reloadeds are better (obviously).

They're lighter, they actually aren't CRAZY light but I guess that they're light. The boot is really stiff & molds amazingly well to your foot. They do however feel like garbage out of the box.

Great skate IMO if it fits you... The only problem on mine is that the heel is too wide, maybe I just bought a size that's too large but I don't think that's the case... My heel just keeps lifting, so I got to get new skates :S

Good luck to you though!

I like my skates, but I do have a few issues with them, been skating on them for a season 2 to 4 times a week:

1. the heel still doesn't fit perfectly. It's a huge improvement over the original, but I find that the heel area is still not the best for hold. Plus you still can still move your heel in the skate.

2. during the molding process, if you tie your laces too tight, you will pull the eyelets together too much. This is an issue for me because the top three eyelets are pretty damn close together and I have to crank them tight, still can't find the sweet spot with the tightness of the laces.

3. The skate molds very, very well around the mid and fore foot. Best in the industry. However, the ankle and heel don't mold as well.

In my honest opinion, I would probably say to skip this skate and try another. They have a okay skate, not a great one.

I've skated on these since Thanksgiving, so for about 6 months. I like them but I do have a lot of the same concerns as this poster.

1. It still feels like my heel moves a bit, especially when trying to do real aggressive moves.

2. The top eyelets end up only about an inch to 1.5 inches apart. It is tough to find a sweet spot on the tightness. I would highly recommend wax laces is you do go this route.

I think my next pair of skate will be the One100's when I get my use out of this pair.

Either of you guys find out how to fix this problem with the heel lifting we are all having? Mine keeps lifting and...well, it's hella annoying.

What have you been skating on air? I switched from my 9k's to my son's U+ Reloaded and it felt like I didn't have anything on they were so light.

As far as heel lift and eyelets to close together, doesn't sound like the skate fits, maybe just not your brand. Pulling eyelets out...you can do that to any skate hot or cold, that is why you pull out and not up when lacing.

U+ reloaded is the lightest skate I have used. Luckily I was able to get a custom fitting...so the skate fits like a sock. I wish they would last forever. Most responsive boot...I couldn't be happier.

I need some thoughts. I'm primarily wearing 7.5EE one95's and they fit really well. Perhaps even some extra room in the forefoot- which was a first for me- and I'm kicking the tires on some U+ Reloadeds. The problem is that I can't try them on. My question is, is there a shot they'll fit me? I was considering 8.0E in the CCM's. Anybody care to weigh in?
