Duchene and Howard both had good years...but Duchene is a skill guy, probably the easier to transition from Jr to Pro. Howard has had a few years in the AHL. NHL rookie, yes...but he's had some seasoning., it's not totally new to him.

Myers has stepped into the NHL as a defenseman and played a full season and looked like a veteran for much of it.

I gotta give it to Myers.

Is this based on the regular season only? Howard's low GAA is what kept the Wings in the playoffs. Great for him to be one of the 3 finalists, but like you said he's had just under the minimum number of NHL games to maintain rookie status for a couple seasons now.

To be that young and to be able to play in any situation makes him so valuable.

Myers by a mile. Not to take anything away from Howard, the kid played great when there were questions coming into this year, but Myers looks so damn calm out there. What a stud. Being 6'7" or something rediculous like that doesnt hurt either.

Myers was one of the reasons Canada was so strong at the World Juniors for a couple years there. Duchene played good as well but still comes off as being "new" to the nhl, whereas Myers just seems to fit right in. Any surprise Tavares isn't nominated? I'm sure that has to sting.

Gotta go with Myers. Going to be even more scary good when he grows into his body.
