X:60 Girdle Reviews

Yeah you step in and strap the legs. Lightweight girdle with great mobility and protection. The old vapor 40 girdle had the stack of pads on the waist, they eliminated that in this one. It's amazing.

Wow! These things are awesome. They are extremely light weight. They are a step-in with leg wrap as previously mentioned. A couple of things to note:

1) I was expecting the hip pads to have a little more plastic around the hip. The plastic inside is smaller than what you would think or expect from the picture. However, there is soft padding that does fill the entire pad. This probably allows for more flexibility. Would prefer a little more plastic in this area, but may not be an issue. Time will tell.

2) Coming from pants, this girdle is extremely comfortable, and allows for more freedom of movement with a lower profile. I really like the lower profile as it allows more freedom of hand movement.

3) It is a little warmer than pants, but much, much cooler than I had expected. I sweat like a pig anyway, so no big deal. The girdle fits snug around the waist, like any pant would. I found that leaving the thigh pads a little loose allowed for more airflow and a little more comfort while skating.

I love these things. Will need more game time to determine whether the protection is adequate, but this looks like the first girdle in recent times that actually tried to incorporate the pant protection in a girdle form while providing the cooling effect that other girdles haven't. Will provide more comments in a couple of months.

If you're on the fence, I can honestly say that you won't be disappointed if you give these a try.

Wrap.

They are a true hybrid - it's a girdle on steroids. I considered it as I've worn a girdle for 15 yrs now but it's more protection than I really want/need at this point. Went with the ONE95.

The One95's are a wrap. I wore them for the first time tonight. Damn what a difference..I did not feel like i was working against the it at all like i did with regular pants..

i have both the one95 girdle and x60 girdle. here are my thoughts on them.

the x60 is much lighter and more comfortable (ie less bulky). the x60 feels more protective around the hip. the padding between the hips and thighs leave something to be desired.

however the one95 feels like there is more padding between the hips and thighs, which overlap (but bulky). i would be more comfortable blocking shots with the one95.

overall, the x60 is the better girdle.

important to note, i wear size medium girdles which are slightly big on me because im skinny but tallish (28" waist, 5'9), so the one95 doesn't get stretched out like it would on an appropriately sized person and therefore does not expose the gaps between segments.

So, if I'm 5'8 1/2", should I go with a small or medium X:60 girdle?

I don't think your height is the deciding factor as much as your waist & your build.

If you have 30" and under waist then small is definitely a go

otherwise medium might fit better

Not assuming this is what you're going to do, but just stating the obvious: in either case I wouldn't just blindly order online based on some advice from people that never even saw you - try it on first! ;))

i'm of the opinion length is more important than waist. you can tighten the waist, but you can't lengthen the pant. if its too short you expose the bottom of your thighs.

i would say medium is better. the x60 fits more snugly than the one95, so the "32-36"" waist of the x60 wasn't as noticeable on my 29" waist.

So, I'm about a 30-32 in waist, and I'm 5'8" tall. I've tried on the Vapor XXXX in a medium at my LHS, and that felt good. However, they do not have any of those in stock in a S, nor do they have vapor X:60 in a small or medium. I've also gone to 2 other shops, both also do not have them in stock. I want to order them this week. Should I go with the Sm or Md?

I'm 5'8"-5'9" and have a 30"-31" waist and I wear a small in the XXXX adaptable core pad. Pretty sure the X:60 fit is almost identical. The small is perfect for me.

It's not too tight or too short? Did you check out the medium before you decided on the small?

I'd recommend to go a size up with X60 ACP . I wear a M size pants, and find that medium X60 girdle is sitting to tight and felt smaller compared to traditional pants ,also there is some small gap between shin pads cap and bottom part of girdle . Having tried on both Large and Medium I can say that a large size works better for me . Just my opinion.

I actually find my self tightening it and pulling it up throughout my games. The length is perfect and the bottom of the pants and thigh pads stay put really well; the waist just loosens up once in a while when skating so I either give the belt a tug or just pull it up a little.

Never tried on a medium, I think it would be too big all around.

I think I'm going to go with the small. If when I get it, it doesn't fit properly, I can always send it back and request a medium. Thanks to everyone who helped out with this decision.

Is there any problem with wearing an inline girdle under an ice hockey shell??? What are the main differences betwwen ice/roller girdles?? I mean, im guessing there is a little lesss protection, due to the difference in puck weight, but are the difference that big??

the x60 is a full ice hockey girdle, so it has all the protection you would expect from a mid level ice hockey pant. it still won't be as protective as the high end hockey pants but it will be adequate for the majority of players. it is designed to be used with an ice hockey shell (specifically a girdle shell, so a regular shell could be roomy).

its a big difference from roller hockey girdles, which you shouldn't use for ice hockey.

one big difference between the x60 and the one95 (and other girdles) is that it actually has significant tailbone protection, like you would expect from a regular pant.

Thanks - looks like I'm going to have to see if I can try one on. I'm going to Buffalo tomorrow so hopefully one of the stores there will have them as girdles are not widely available in this area. I've always wanted to try a girdle but the lack of tailbone protection always killed the deal for me.

So if the X:60 girdle + shell costs the same as the X:60 pant but offers less protection, why buy the girdle?

Some skaters, me for one, prefer to wear a girdle rather than pants for the mobility and fit. The X:60 girdle still has great protection, it just comes to down preference for a lot of people.

more or less the same reason why people wear the most minimalist shoulder pads they can.

I won't be able to confirm this until Monday when I'm back in the shop and can compare the X:60 girdle to the X:60 pant but I'm pretty sure the level of protection between the two is the same. I don't think the X:60 girdle offers less protection than the X:60 pant. I think they both offer the same level of protection, which is top end, not mid level. Besides player preference to girdles, the X:60 girdle gives the player on multiple teams that wear different color pants, the option to just switch shell colors, not own two pairs of X:60 pants. Also, the thigh pad on the girdle allows you to velcro snug it as tight or loose as you want. That option is not there with the pants.

also, when i checked out one95 girdles and pants, the pant was $99 and the shell was $45 compared to the pant which was $189. granted this was comparing across two different stores (source for sports and prohockeylife) because neither store carried both.

Looking for some help here. Trying to decide between the X60 and the ONE95. I'm not really looking for a ton of protection, just mobility. As for size, I have a 36" waist and I'm 5'7", not sure if I should go medium or large.
