Chadd 916 Report post Posted May 13, 2010 Apparently our old GM (a Leaf fan) sent our new GM (Habs fan) an e-mail today. It said:Go Habs!...Did I just say that?-TomWe should start seeing the "I support Montreal because they're the only Canadian team left" comments soon. jeffw 1 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 You can always tell the Pens bandwagoners with their powder blue Max Talbot/ Sid Crosby jersey.Wore my Barrasso jersey the other day and had 3 differnt people ask me who that was. I was like damn. haha. I mean its great and all that tickets/revenues are up, but its really annoying at the same time to the diehards. Overall though if it means growing the game and getting more people exposed and interested we should all be happy.I have a Trottier Penguins jersey with the 'C' on it. You should see the looks I get
iceNsteel 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 For professional sports to work on a business level you need a very wide base of consumers, and that means a lot of casual fans. I do find the ones that pretend to be hardcore hockey people annoying, but have nothing against people that enjoy a hockey game here and there but don't devote more of their time to it than that. starsfan71 9 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 We should start seeing the "I support Montreal because they're the only Canadian team left" comments soon.I always cheer for the Canadian team in a series, unless it's against Boston or Dallas. It's just one of those things, I really like the playoff atmosphere in the Canadian arenas.Does that make me a bandwagoner?
JoeyJ0506 192 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 With 5+ minutes left in the gameThey were on their way to the Clemente Bridge to jump. No joke, I had a buddy of mine txt me that he was never going to watch or go to a Penguins' game again. Honestly? We got beat, it happens. Am I upset, yes! Am I going to never watch a game I love played by a team I've followed my entire life because of it... No! Don't hurt your knees when you jump off the bandwagon. I'll see you again next year around the end of April.

As someone said, in the Penguins situation for example..bandwagoners/casual fans picked up when MAF/Crosby etc. were signed ended up being part of what kept the Pens in pittsburgh. awesome. Awareness/Revenue/Ticket Sales etc. are increased, awesome. I wish Pittsburgh was like Montreal or something crazy where hockey is life, that would be awesome. The douches who left the last game of the season early because they were losing, not so much. Last game in the Civic Arena or not, stay through to the end and support the team thats busted their nut for you all season ya know?I'm all for hockey growing but sometimes its annoying but you'll have that. durke 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2010 I consider myself a big Sharks fan. I waste way too much time watching most of their games. If their not playing I'll find a team to root for just because I love the game. I usually root for the team with the most Swedes, for example the Wings or most Americans (Blackhawks). I also like to watch certain players, usually the little tough type like Theo Fleury. My point is I enjoy watching any hockey and having someone to cheer for makes it funner.
