Best protective shoulder pad

I definitely think, for you the ST16 is the way to go. Better rib coverage, great back and spine protection and a nice low profile fit. I'm actually very surprised the 10K doesn't have more in the way of rib protection.

Wow fantastic comparison pictures. Thanks weedsnager! The back of the 10K looks like a dinosaur haha. But yeah looks like the rib wrap on the ST16 is the most protective!

The best thing I did for crosschecks is ditch the shoulder pads completely and went with a padded shirt.

the ST16 is my favorite as well, and the cheapest out of all of them. i wore them today, didn't have one problem during the game.

I was sold on the RBK 10k's until this thread! Im torn between the RBK and Eastons (been a fanboy of Jofa since back in the day) and never had any easton aside from sticks. Hmmmm.... difficult choice.

Im about the same size +10lbs, would you still keep the large size or go into the medium on Easton ST16 /RBK 10K?

i would get the large in the Easton ST16 /RBK 10K if i were you.

The ST16 looks like it weighs a whole lot more than the S19. Does it?

definetly weighs more, don't have an exact figure though.

I happened to pick up a medium ST16 tonight. Weighed it at over 1200 grams. Compared to my Vapor XXXX pads that weigh 971 grams, they are noticeably heavier. They don't sit well with my S19 pants (rubbing, moving around), and feel bulky, so I'm taking them back and sticking with the XXXX shoulder pads for a while.

i said the same thing with my pants when i had them on at my house, but when i actually skated with them they were fine.

I found leaning my torso side to side jammed the shoulders into the pants, making them kinda rise up and lift off my shoulder on the one the side I was leaning towards. You don't find this? Maybe it's just me. Lol

yes, while standing in my house, they slightly rubbed into my pants, but not at all to the extent that they lifted off of my shoulder....
