Boostinmister2 16 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 The other day I was with my friend who is a lacrosse player, he wanted to drop by a store that sold Lacrosse gear. I noticed their elbow pads and tried some on. I tried on some RBK and Warrior ones. Wow they feel so much better compared to hockey elbow pads. Good mobility and lots of protection! http://www.lacrossemonkey.com/armpads.html Check out the RBK and Warrior ones.Anyone use Lacrosse Elbow pads for Hockey? How do you like it? any problems? How's the stickhandling? Thanks

How's the stickhandling? ThanksI wouldn't recommend it. Being in the same building and working closely with the LAX guys, their product is not meant for hockey. The lack of wrap around cap and hyper-extension protection could be an issue for a hockey player. Also, LAX elbow guards are meant more for slash protection to the back of the arm and less for falling or checking impact, you'll notice that the base and outer covering foams are much thinner. There is also very little top arm, forearm coverage. If those key protective features are not important, LAX elbow guards are certainly very flexible and lightweight. Polarlight 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 Don't do it.There's a reason they're called "lacrosse elbow pads" and "hockey elbow pads".
nickyb13 9 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 I use lax elbow pads for ice and roller, and haven't had a problem in the 5 ish years that I've used them. But then again, I haven't taken any hard falls to test out the elbow cap.
Krev 86 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 Lacrosse elbow pads for hockey is not the smartest thing. However, hockey elbow pads being used for lacrosse is actually somewhat decent considering the amount of padding.
Shayno 1 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 Don't do it.There's a reason they're called "lacrosse elbow pads" and "hockey elbow pads".There actually called "arm guards".....the name alone tells me they are not meant for the rigors of hockey.....would not recomend at adult level! But that's just my opinion? ironic_chef 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 DO do it - I absolutely recommend them. They are so comfortable and I have never had an injury or even a funnybone stinger.I've worn lax arm guards as elbow pads for the last 10 years. I could never get a pair of hockey elbow pads to fit properly, and I tried so many pairs in store, and wasted money buying at least 4 pairs that didn't work out. This is essentially what I wear, although mine are STX. Mine has lots of wrap-around forearm protection - it completely depends on the model you buy and how it sits on your arm.
