PPF "long" from monkey

I don't remember who, but I promised someone in the good deal thread to post info about the PPF "long" gloves from monkey when I got them. Can't access that thread right now, so I'm posting here.

Gloves just arrived, and, as expected, they are the PPF+.

They have the Canada flag on the inside of the cuff, which I read somewhere means they're post-Vaughn, but the bag includes a date of 7/27/09.

Edit: Palms are gray on gray, FWIW.

I got my PPFi's today as well. Navy and white, flag on the outside so they're pre-Vaughn gloves.

From what I've read, they're still made in Canada, but post-Vaughn have the flag on the outside of the cuff. Good or bad, before or after? I dunno, I'll have to leave that to the folks that know; this is the only pair of Eagles I've ever had. I was just trying to supply info so people could tell which ones I got.

First Vaughn version seemed to have downgraded specs, the feel was very different. New version is a completely different fit, much more narrow. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. The Vaughn models are still excellent gloves, I just don't care for them as much as the original version.

These seem a little tight across the palm, maybe that's part of the narrow fit you mention. I wore them for the Hawks game tonight, and flexed out some frustration to help loosen that a bit.

actually the pre-Vaughn have the flag on the outside of the cuff. the post-vaughns have the flag on the inside.

the greys on the left are pre-vaughn, the blacks on the right are post-vaughn:

I like the pre-vaughns a little bit better. they don't seem quite as "tight" across the top of the hand. both are EXCELLENT gloves though and well worth the $99 Hockey Monkey price.

...what I heard is, that HM stopped the $99 deal and went back to $149...@Wrangler: that was me on the good deal thread, I was just joking on the 'long' spelling, but wanted to know, if those were 'long cuff' or '+'...good, that you got the PPF+ if you need longer fingers...strange thing with your flag on the inside...but I heard, that there are some hybrid versions out...ie 'flag outside and red lining' ??!!

I'm confused. You're quoting my message as saying "outside", but when I look back at my message it says 'inside".

Edit - I got it. Looks like I said "inside" in two messages, then "outside" in a third.

I think I made it obvious I'm relying on others for this kind of info, it's new to me. My flag is inside. I think I read something about palm differences, black vs. gray reinforcement on gray palms. My glove palms are gray on gray.

Long cuff is not something I know about, so not a guess I could have made. Yes, I need the longer fingers, these are just right. With the PPF fingers extended my fingertips will hit when touching something; with the PPF+ the end of the finger padding hits instead, protecting the finger tips.

The PPFs I received were also pre-vaugh with the flag on the outside.
