Return Of The TACK!?!?!?!

Recommended Posts

At my LHS today and apparently CCM is launching the Tack skate again this October. He said it is an awesome skate and should put CCM skates back on the map. Anyone confirm this?

this would be awesome, but I would be surprised if they brought out the new u+cl and a tack skate at the same time. But what do I know all i see is what I read on here!

I don't think we'll see a Tack in this years October Surprise. Next year's CCM skates will be the complete new U line. Perhaps they will make them in the future, but it prob wont be this year or next Spring.

Interest with Tacks died with the last generation. Only old guys liked them, not enough interest to sustain a line. I would like to see just one model made, classic fit and styling, with updated construction techniques in about the $350 range. That would likely sell to those who like them.

My father would flip if they came out with new Tacks.

I am surprised that CCM wouldn't do what Bauer does with the Flexlites, just release a few models in order to accommodate a certain foot-type or something. Us die-hards would be happy plus they might reach a few more consumers with weird feet.

The problem was never the name, it was that the product didn't evolve into the realm of lighter skates as the Bauer Supreme line did. If you put out a Tacks skate that was light and up to date, people would buy it.
