Can anyone point me to a link showing some pics of a RBK 8K blade quality or even just give me an idea of what is made of as this is what the Tapered RBK Ovi blade are supposed to similar to. Is it composite or is a an abs laminate etc? I may buy some of the tapered RBK Ovi blades from Pro Stock Hockey Gear, but I haven't a clue what the quality of the 8K blade is.

From what I've heard the reebok tapered blades are composite and its more like what the pros get then the retail 8k blades.

Hopefully they look a lot better than the retail blades. I can't stand all of the shiny finishes on retail blades and sticks.

According to their facebook, pretty much same construction as the retail 8k but in a matte finish.

Hoping the U+ CL on Hockey monkey is his pattern. I have one of his now that Reads "Ovi 8" on it. and apparently he used anything from a 70 flex up to a 100 on his sticks

You are correct. I have the same stick with Ovie 8 stamp in a lefty U+ CL but it has the old vector 10 style blade cause it was ordered in a twelve pack, by a friend of mine. CCM probably just put the crazy light paint job on the Vector 10 stick for the one I have. Ovie's true pro stocks have the Ovi painted right on the stick which matches the U+ CL graphics. So you may get the thin style lam blade that I have, but maybe not since younalready have one. Still is a nice stick but very different feel than the composite blades. Just thought that info would help with your decision.

picked up one of the ovi curves from prohockeylife. ill see how the U+ 07 tests.

Just wanted to put up a friendly update in regards to the stick's durability.

On my first outting with the stick it broke somewhere 2/3 down the shaft. The replacement stick's blade quickly went soft in terms of hearing a crackling noise upon twisting it with your hands. Then again my SE16 clone Ovi sitck's blade went soft pretty quickly, but when it broke it ended up breaking at the fuse point.

For a $150CAD retail tick I would hope that it would have some type of durability, but in my case that wasn't the case. I would have no problem spending $100 on this stick just so I can get the curve I want though.

^^^ that has to be technique related, unless you are a 280lb beast or have a NHL shot and use the stick as much as they do I really cant see a stick breaking that fast from shooting

Is the CCM U+ Crazy Ovi the same as his pro pattern?

According to my CCM colleague, the Crazy Ovi pattern offered on the new U+CL will be the same as the Ovechkin pro pattern. The new U+CL will be launched in early 2011. Hope that helps.

If you are willing to splurge, the new Warrior KGB sticks carry a "Kremlin" curve which is the exact Ovechkin curve. I believe it retails around 130. Have a couple buddies who tried it out and they thought it performed well.

That's awesome. And when will those be available on your website? The picture in the catalog looks like the Ovechkin pattern is a really thin blade. Is it actually made that way, or is it just the picture?

Does anyone have a side by side comparison of an Oshie pro curve and P08? I know it has been described as 'flatter' but what does that mean? Is it just a milder P08?

I'd say it's closer to a P08 than an actual Ovie curve, so yeah it's more toned down. Tomorrow I'll try and remember to post an Ovie against an Oshie.
