Rangers 2010-2011

Recommended Posts

boyle is going to be due for a pretty big raise from $525,000 even if this is a fluke for him. i dont think richards is the solution to the rangers problems - but at least the rangers aren't stuck in new jersey's shoes w/kovalchuk. which is funny because that is what the rangers were famous for doing (throwing big money at one player).

Aside from scoring more often I really dont understand what the Rangers "problem" is. They're a team that has done EXTREMELY well this season when considering how many total man-games they have lost from key players (Callahan, Gaborik, Prospal, Dubi etc.,) Sure, they're not a cup contender but I would definitely say they are one of the most underrated teams in the NHL.

I don't see McIlrath anywhere near MSG for at least a couple years, if even that soon. All he seems to be known for is being a big banger on the blue line. I would rather a solid D-man ala Sauer than another Kasparaits type: running around looking for a big hit.

McDonagh has done very well thus far. If he continues this play and has a good camp — I'd expect to see him starting the season.

If they get healthy and continue to play hard, they could be very dangerous in the playoffs, just like Montreal was last year.

Well...

Callahan - returning tomorrow

Prospal - expected next week

Dubinsky - expected next week but MIGHT be ready this week

Frolov - out for season. who cares?

Boogaard - same as Frolov.

Christensen - resumed skating today.

Now the question is, can they all STAY healthy?

all of them? no - but even if a handful of them are able to stay healthy they could pull a montreal like last year - lundqvist isn't exactly swiss cheese (but he is swiss)

Who are you expecting not to come back? Boogaard and Frolov obviously done for the season.

As for Dubinsky, stress fractures are real bummers.

I hoping it doesn't haunt him for the rest of his career.

As per Andrew Gross (beat writer for Rangers). Dubinsky + Callahan + Girardi in the lineup tonight.Prospal expected for Thursday night. Christensen next week.

I'm expecting the lines tonight to look like:

Dubinsky-Anisimov-Gaborik

Wolski-Stepan-Callahan

Zuccarello - Boyle - Prust

Avery - Newbury - Drury

For the most part, yes. 0 goals, 4 assists. 30 games.

Tough skid.

But after seeing Vinny Prospal back, I'm actually feeling kind of remiss to have said that Prospal should be gone. Not that he has the star skill, but it was nice seeing the emotion from him again.

On a some what related note...

Torts, Prospal, Fedotenko, now the rumors on Richards(which I think is highly unlikely). Do I smell something cooking, Glen?

Maybe he's taking a page from the Neil Smith playbook. The page where Smith signed almost every Oiler in history and won the cup. lol

Torts doing some major line shuffling. Gaborik needs to wake the hell up...

Also Del Zotto sitting tomorrow, Emmy back in. They're really mis-managing DZ this year. He needs to spend the rest of the season in a Whale jersey.
