Just got back from watching the movie "Saw"

Anybody on here see it yet? If not you really should. Sort of reminded me of seven, but an all together awesome movie. Waaayyyyy better than Grudge. An actual good scary/suspensful movie.

I dont play on seeing it in the near future...think you could post a few spoilers...if you do dont forget to warn everyone about the stuff in the post. Isnt it like they put people in situations where one has to kill the other to survive.

No spoilers but here's the last line of the review from theonionavclub.com...

Though dumber than a box of rocks, Saw forges ahead with the kind of conviction and energy that will keep bad-cinema junkies sitting bolt upright.

My sister and I saw it last night. We were both really psych'd to see it as we're both hard-core into movies. She's been reading about it online for a while.

We both had mixed reactions to it; slightly disappointed. Some of the comments I heard about it which I agree with were that it had the potential to be one of the best horror/suspense movies of all time (Silence of the Lambs, is far and away the best of all time in that genre). It had a unique premise, but we thought the acting was a little weak, particularly the doctor guy. I love Danny Glover, but I thought he was under-utilized. The director used the flash-back tool too much. I also thought the director over did the speed-up technique of filming, especially during the car chase scene near the end of the movie.

I thought the end was the best part of the movie. Overall, the movie had some interesting twists and turns and was a good Halloween-type movie to watch. I'd definitely recommend it to people to see. One a scale of 0 to 10 (Silence was an 11), I gave it a 6 (my sister gave it a 5).

I thought Silence of the Lams was one of the funniest movies. "It rubs the lotion on the skin or else it gets the hose again." I thought that was one of the funniest things in the wolrd, and the great acting of Hopkins made it even funnier to listen to him say "Chianti". Anyways sorry to here that you were dissapointed with "SAW" I thought that it would be good, but after reading what you guys think about it, I think I'll save my money.

IMO The Grudge sucked, I can't believe some people are saying it's the scaryest movie of the year. I almost laughed the whole time, kept thinking about how it would be nice to make a scary movie #4 out of it.

I just got back from Saw 10 minutes ago.

ok here's my opinion. I have seen alot of movies and consider myself to be a good judge.

Personally I liked Saw. The story was great, and the ending was amazing. The only thing that makes this movie not up there with the classics is the acting. The acting is awful. Danny Glover is horrible, the guy that plays Dr. Lawrence is even worse, and the others aren't anything to write home about. The only thing that made me want to sit through it was the great story. The effects are perfect. It is gory, but not too gory. Wan uses just enough to get a disturbing effect. Yes, the plot is alot like Seven in that a murderer kills people to teach an overral lesson, but other than a few minor things, that is where the similarities end.

So again, I thought it was a good solid movie that had awful acting. I definitely think it is worth seeing because the plot still has me excited.

And the Grudge sucked, one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

I'd been waiting to see it since January and that affected my reaction to it somewhat, but it's an all right movie. If "Se7en" is an Oreo, this is a Hydrox.

I saw it last night on Halloween. I loved it. We missed the first ten minutes because someone was late but I got into it right away. I thought the movie was great and the ending only made it better. The man behind it all (Jigsaw) remined me of the sniper from Phone Booth. It was a really good movie. I highly reccommend it.

The ending was the best part of the movie.

what happened at the end?

***Spoiler***

Well the killer wins, presumably. Kind of hard to wrap it up because so much stuff goes on, but one of the guys (a doctor who had his family kidnapped) thinks they're dead, saws his foot off and leaves. This is of course after he shot his fellow prisoner (though he didn't kill him) and leaves to get help and my guess is he bleeds to death. Turns out the killer was in the room with them, informs the shot prisoner that the key to his chain was in a tub (and went down the drain in the first 10 seconds of the movie) and leaves him in the room with no lights an the door closed. Either he gets lucky and someone will find him or he'll have to cut off his foot to try and get away. Just a weird ass movie.
