Vapor X30 Pant Durability?

After about 4-6 games using my new Bauer X30 Vapor ice pants, the crotch area started to rip and tear. Icewarehouse.com was nice enough to exchange them since they were still under the warranty.

I played my second game with the new pants tonight and there's already a tear in the same spot. Do I just keep getting pants from a defective batch or are they just not durable?

Since you bought online maybe you are buying pants that do not fit properly. Are they too tight where they rip? Could be the wrong size. Otherwise, the X:30 is really just a first price point pant and maybe you need a better quality pant.

Yeah I agree. He may be using the wrong size (because it is ripping in the crotch area), but I would wager that the durability is not super on x30s

I'm 5'5" with a size 32 waist. I'm wearing a small right now and while it's a snug fit, it's no different than when I wore a small Bauer supreme shell that lasted me almost 2 seasons before I switched to these pants.

Would going up to the medium really help, even though it would open up the other problem of length/fit issues?

I made the mistake of buying them too - what a piece of crap. I noticed a small tear in the crotch after the first game; after second game, two massive tears - the upside was everyone could see my cup. hah.

I had the same problem with my first pair of pants, Vapor X:20's. Tore at the inside of the leg/crotch and at random points on the pants. Used them for like 5 games in a non-check beer league before the tears became nearly irreparable (tried sewing, patching-- the material is just crap). Ended up just buying a pair of ONE75 pants in the same size, and they seem infinitely more durable and flexible so far.

I can easily tell you the jump from X:30 to X:40 is very significant, I almost got a pair of X:30s but am glad I didn't.

I just returned a bunch of them in junior size for the shop, all with the same problem. Your LHS should replace the pants or credit you to a better pair, no questions asked. Just make sure you have your receipt for proof of purchase.

Yeah u may want to upgrade to the x40s I haven't had a problem with mine. Solid pants

Just got a note from the large chain where I purchased them - they've had a lot of problems with the x30s apparently. Good thing the little punk clerk steered me right to them! LOL.

I bought the same pants for my 11 yr old . Same pants , same problem. crotch area started ripping after about 3 weeks ( 4 games , 8 practices ).

now that's weird. i've been using em for 3 months, twice a week. no ripping problem. still stay strong.
