Combat Sports Pants and Gloves

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up a .45 caliber stick at the rink as I had inadvertently left my sicks at home. I have to say I really like this stick.

I went to the manufacturers web site to research their other sticks and found they are making pants and gloves as well. Has anyone used these?

Opinions?

Pants are meh, as are the gloves. I prefer the .52 Cal glove over the .45 Cal glove though, unlike most people. The rolls on the 45 glove sit weirdly on top of my hand. The sticks though, as you know, are pretty nice.

I haven't personally used anything other than their 52 and 45 sticks, and they're both low-mid kick.

Thanks Krev,

I finally entered the 21st century and stopped using wooden sticks. I haven't found one I really love yet but the .45 Cal is close.

I borrowed a .22 Cal just to see if I liked it and found it to be horribly "pingy". Didn't care for the Bauer X:20 recommended by my LHS. The Easton S7 was Meh at best.

I've tried a few others that friends and teammates recommend but nothing that made me go "OOHHH this is the one!"

I want the feel of my Christian Pro series sticks with the power of a good OPS. I'll find one without going broke hopefully.

I like the feel of the Total One I held in St Louis at Total Hockey but didn't pull the trigger on buying it though the wife told me to.

Yes I realize you can't compare an X:20 to a Total One but I wanted to get a clue what I was looking for in an OPS before I spent the money on an upper end model.

If I may make a suggestion, a good introductory stick for OPS is the Warrior Dolomite model. If your local LHS has any of the new DD's in stock, that'd be a good stick to pick up.

These ones are what I'm talking about: http://www.hockeymonkey.com/warrior-hockey-stick-dolomite-dd-clear-sr.html
