Getzlaf/Lidstrom pattern

Recommended Posts

I've been using the Sakic Easton pattern and the Draper-Warrior pattern for a few years, thinking about changing it up, has anyone used the Getzlaf/Lidstrom pattern? If so, can you give some feedback?

Getzlaf pattern is great. It's a huge open blade and it's great for wristers. I got a lot of lift on my shots cause of it. Catching passes was so easy with it compared to my Crosby. If Easton ever made it in an ABS blade, it'd be my blade of choice.

I think it's a perfect all around pattern, and I always find myself going back to it (or a similar variant). My only 'peeve' (if you can call it that) is that I wish it were a touch shorter of a blade.

I know this has been talked about in a few of those threads above that skyscrape listed, but IMO the Jovo/Lids/Getzlaf/P02 pattern plays like a mid/heel, even though it's technically listed as a heel.

I think it is more of a mid/heel than the p91a or drury as well.

I think it would be much easier to make the switch from a sakic to the getzlaf, than going from the sakic to a drury or p91a.

I've been using the Sakic and Draper curves for awhile but I want to give something else a try, I picked up the Bauer Malkin and don't really care for it, I really want to give the Getzlaf/Lidstrom a shot but I'm not sure what kind of shot difference I can expect.

I find those curves to be quite close, so your shot shouldn't change dramtically.

Yeah that's what I read in one of the other threads, so that being said I sold myself on going out and getting a Getzlaf pattern

Just discovered the CCM/Reebok prostock v16curve which is a lower-lie variant of the lidstrom. I like it a lot; my pattern of choice right now.
