Velcro tab jocks

I noticed that the pros seem to stick with the 'old' button style garter belts instead of the Velcro tab short style jocks.

Used to it? Pro stock edge socks do not come with the Velcro tabs anyway.

there's no give with the velcro and it ruins the socks and equipment when it latches on to stuff. I wear a compression short with garter. love it and won't ever go back to velcro. the biggest plus is there is more freedom of movement as opposed to velcro where it is more binding.

I've had both and gone to the garter style jock. It doesn't catch on everything, it holds up the socks better (Edge or regular), and there is no Velcro part that folds over on to rub on my skin.

Guys, please read the actual post before answering. He's asking why pros use them, not what your feelings or preferences are. For what it's worth, ininew got it on the first post. No velcro on the pro socks and most of the guys grew up using garter belts anyway.
