Forsberg retires

Recommended Posts

If only every athlete had this drive and class. This is the definition of competitiveness.

It's heart breaking to think he considers his career to have basically ended at age 30. These last 7-8 years have been an attempt to get back to his standard, as he describes it. But, as the presser draws to an end, you can see a palpable sense of peace there. Fare thee well, Peter. You set the standard high. You left the game better, expanded the pantheon.

Best European player ever in the NHL. Thank you for everything!

I think you'll get an argument on that comment. Jagr, Kurri were all pretty damn good European players too. IN some regards, IMHO they were better than Forsberg.

Forsberg retires, Calgary scores 5 goals in the 1st period.. alone, and Duchy leaves with a hand injury. Welp heres to looking forward to a high draft pick. Sucks to be an Avs fan right now.

Yes it does, what a bummer !
