Easton skatie sizing

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. My problem is with finding out what size do I need for my new skates.

I bought my skates like 5-6 years ago, they are Easton SC700, and now they are destroyed. So Im going for S17. My size is 43 in European sizes, and I cant find out what is it in US, because on shoes it says that it is 9-9.5, here it says that 43 should be 10.5 (http://www.hockeymonkey.com/easton-hockey-skate-sizing-chart.html), and Im relay confused what size skates I need. The problem is in that Im living in Latvia, and I dont know why, but there isnt any new Easton skates for sale in shops. My old Easton was 9D, but there were too big for me (in lenght) and width is perfect. Recently I trieds friends CCM U+ PRO I think it was 8.5D, and they were too narrow for me, and I didnt feel comfortable in them at all. So I decided to go for new Easton, because my old ones was perfect. I got wide forefoot, and that was problem with CCM's, so Im asking if regular width size eastons will fit me, or I need to go for wide ones? Other problem is with size, as I said my old eastons were 9D, and after the chart it should be 43 (and I am 43), but they were much too long. Have easton sizing changed? It is old model, so I dont want to risk by buying 9R and have problems with width or lenght problems. And maybe some suggestions where I could buy them (on internet). I was looking on ebay, but maybe some other i-shop is better? (for international shipping)

P.S. I hope someone understood my problem, english is just my third language, so Im not so good at it.

Thanks

Im European, use a 43 in shoe size, and wear S17s. My size is an 8.5. I think that would fit you too. Snug fit, but after a couple weeks they feet perfectly.

Also I tried on the new CCM U+CL and they felt horrible (I guess my feet are too flat and the CL is not meant for that type of feet)

So Im probably going for 9 size, because now Im used to that my feet feels free. Just thinking about width. I would rather buy wide skates probably, but there is problem with them on ebay, most skates for sale are regular width. My forefoot is wide. In CCM's my sall toe hurt so bad, that I coulnd feelp it after skating.

I read, that many changed blades for TUUK's, is they really so good? Maybe I should buy them as well.. Just trying to find best solution.

Thanks adalbort, now Im sure about lenght size.

better go with you feet measured in mm...

btw: I think HM's skate sizing chart is crap, but no sizing chart can give you an exact measurement or true statement about the fit...probably closest I saw is the one on icewarehouse...

how to measure right? step on paper, and draw around with pencil, then measure?

Maybe someone could suggest where I could buy S17's? On ebay is problem with those sizes, as I said. Some other i-shop? Where prices is normal and they ship internaional? I tried once on hockeymonkey, but somehow that didnt work, I couldnt pay even with paypal.

Lenght 26,7 cm

Width 10,7 cm

Something strange with those sizes. Anyway, could someone tell how wide is S17 the heel and forefoot of the skate? That would be easier. I would buy, or tryout at local stores, but as I said, there isnt any Easton skates for sale in local stores, so they are rare in Latvia. I have nothing to compare with. Thats the reason Im looking for informaton and trying to get right size for me. I the 8.5D CCM's where to narrow for me and perfect in lenght, I must take 9 Eastons. Is the easton regular size wider as CCM's regular?

...sounds def. more like a 8.5 or even better a 8 to me...but wait till you get some responses from the Easton guys here...and if the 8.5 CCM is a 'perfect lenghth' for you, as you said...I'd be careful. btw HM's chart would give you a 7.5..and yes, Eastons are wider at the toes...hard to compare the heel, depends to what CCM you'd compare...could you try a CCM, 8 or 8.5 in E?

26,7 is closer to 42/41 than 43...I have 26cm and thats 40/41

thats why Im dont trust those sizing charts... i found that some say I need 41 size shoes, I would never fit in those.

In HM chart I understand that CCM's 8.5 size is same as Easton 9. Ok, I hope some guys here will help. But thats not the biggest problem, because i used bigger skates (in lenght), so it wont be so bad, if they a little bigger, Im just worried about width.

Probably I could try on 8.5E ccm's. In 8 size I wont fit, thats for sure. On monday I can get to shop, here is planty of ccm's, bauers and rbk's in shops, no grafs or eastons.

try them all, go down in size as far as you can...(I could bet, you even make it in a 8E...) and from then go 1/2 size up...

shoes have to be bigger than your foot...skates not

....with ur size u should get the S17 in 8,5 W ...I started with a 9,5 EE I had in my Z-Airs ....but after baking and one ice time they turned out to be too big and I went 9W ...now , after one season in them ( got 2 pairs ) I am even considering going down to 8,5 W as with the new ultrathin easton skatesocks the 9W feels slightly too big !!

sizewise (length) , they pretty much match the new ccm 12 CL, ccm 12 sz 8 is pretty much S17 sz 8 , ....if you can try the ccm 12 in D and think the width is ok you have to go W with the easton ...as the ccm D is wider than the Easton R

as I am european as well u can shoot me a pm to get to know where to get them in your size !!

...and personally I do not feel the need for tuuks ...no issues with the new steel or holder ....

I've had numerous pairs of Easton skates, but I had a holiday from them for a while suring which they changed their sizing

I had some Synergy 900 skates, which were 8.5 & fitted me fine. These are probably 4-5 years old

Recently bought some SE16's in a 7 & the fit is pretty much identical!

I chose the 7's on the basis of the HM chart, sense checked against a few other sites.

So from my experience I would have faith in the size charts

Lenght 26,7 cm

Width 10,7 cm

My feet are the exact same length as yours, and I wear a size 8R in the SE16's. I don't know about the width of my feet, but I'd say I have pretty wide feet. I do like my skates to fit tight, so if you don't want that you should probably go a half size up.

Edit - I also wear a 42 3/4 - 43 in regular shoes (European size).

just tried CCM U CL 8.5E and it was still too narrow for me, they didnt have any CCM's with EE width. So, is the Eastin wide bood wider than ccm's E size?

..you cannot judge the U CL properly without getting it baked .....

..as already mentioned my foot is 3 mm wider than yours and the easton W fits me perfect

i wear a 9 1/2 sneaker/workboot/shoe....i just got easton s12s, tried on 7 1/2...to tite in toe...8R fit perfect

From my experience, the Eastons seem have a pretty wide mid to forefoot width (Easton Stealth regular width is probably an similar to, or wider than Bauer Vapor EE's) and somewhat narrow ankle and heel.

to a certain degree. If they're painfully tight then baking probably won't due much. I felt that U+ reloads in an e were too narrow before I baked them and after baking them and having them punched I felt they were still too narrow
