bros29gladiators 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2011 My son is currently using a junior stick with the flex bordering on mostly ok to just a little soft at 50.He has no problem flexing his Warrior. Problem is he is rugged but on the short side. Short story, I would like him to have the bigger blade of the Intermediate while moving up slightly in flex. Seems if I get a decent Int, stick cut it down 7 or 8 inches at 65 am I going to have a telephone pole? Looking for Advice. Thanks!

Thanks! If we assume the standard length of Intermediates is 57" @ 65 flex rating..Cutting 7-8" will stiffen the flex about 9-11 lbs.65/x = 50/57 3705 = 50x = Stiffness rating around 74.I'm not sure if this computation is correct because the top end of the stick could be stiffer/whippier than the bottom 24", but this should give you a fair rating of what to expect. th6252 25 Report post Posted February 7, 2011 another thing to think of is some of the warriors come in a 55 flex option for their intermediates. that should get you to a bit stiffer flex than he was using after cutting and you get the sr. length blade as well. I am quite sure that this is incorrect. There is no reason to believe that the flex would be affected in a linear fashion like that.

x-axis 44 Report post Posted February 7, 2011 Looks like Bauer made a mistake for the 75 flex. It should be 82 flex when cutting 2 inches not 94 flex.
fiimb 1 Report post Posted February 7, 2011 7-8 inches would add roughly 30 points of flex.which for a 65 flex stick bringing it up to nearly 100, which is probably too much for your kid.i concur with the 55flex int warrior sticks. probably your best bet.on a side note: i've noticed low kick sticks do not go up as drastically in stiffness as midkick sticks when you cut them down.
