Black tape 'hiding the puck' is a myth. Goal tenders know where the puck is. I mean cmon, blades are what? 7-10 inches long something like that? Not much space to uh..."hide a puck"

You might be right. Who the hell knows. I use black on the bottom and white on the top anyway.

I like to think it flattens/seals the tape. I don't like a lot of padding on my blade hence why I use wide white tape which barely no overlapping.

I also use wax after the puck. I guess I could just push down the tape with the wax, but I like my traditions.

Yes.. to thick and dampens feel but its grippy. a lot of roller hockey players use it.. I use it for my driveway stick
