Ok... So after years of being an Olie mask devotee, I've crossed corporate lines and ordered myself a new Hackva. Now, while researching said Hackva, I decided to look at the "pictures of goalies wearing Hackva masks" link on their site and I come across this...

Now as many of you know, I've modified the sh*t outta my gear over the years. I've also seen a whole lot of other goaltenders gear mods. In fact, whenever I meet up with a fellow tender that's normally what we talk about. But I've never seen or heard of anything quite like the backhand mod on that trapper before. Is European hockey really that rough? That glove looks like a prop from Road Warrior or something.

Can confirm that. Used to go to an open hockey and there was a sled hockey goalie that would come out all the time. Had screws through the glove for grabbing and pushing off the ice and nasty looking spikes on the end of the goalie stick for the same purpose.

Sled hockey. We've done it a few times for a customer at our store. Dremel off the bottom of a track spike and rivet it onto the glove. Interesting to say the least!

Wow. Sled hockey. Never seen it in person, but, SO MUCH RESPECT!!!

I watch murderball whenever I feel down a notch. Are there any movies like that about sled hockey?

I went by a shop near me and they were cutting down Dolo shafts and some Easton shafts and making Sled Hockey sticks with Easton composite blades. The things looked like some weapon from Apocalypto.
