An idea for non gear whores

I have a pair of shoulder pads that I have been using for 3 years and I like, but they are reaching the end of their life. I've been trying on different brands and styles currently being sold but haven't really found anything I like as much as I'm wearing now.

On a whim, I punched the size and model number of the pads I'm now wearing into Ebay and Google. Ebay had nothing in my size, but Google came up with a shop that still had these. The best part was that because these are a few seasons old, instead of the $80 I paid when I bought these originally, they are on closeout at $39.

So, if you don't need the latest and greatest, and like what you are using, try using Google and find a shop that may have a pair laying around. You already like the fit and it'll save you a couple of Dollars.

No.I just figured that many people, as I did, would not consider looking for a piece of equipment that is a few years old. My point was not sarcastic, rather, that if you like a piece of equipment that is a few years old, it may still be available. And because it is old, it will be cheaper.

I don't have to have the latest stuff, just the stuff that has always worked the best for me. Google was unable to locate a pair of my old early 2000s Easton Z-Air gloves, but a search of a couple hockey forums landed them for me for $30.
