Eagle PPF glove + washer machine?

Recommended Posts

Any thoughts about washing black Eagle PPF gloves in the washer machine? Hot water? Cold water? Do they come out faded or ripped? Anyone try this or is it a really bad idea?

My gloves get a bi-weekly run through the washer (as does most of my gear). It works better if its a front-load without an agitator, but I've used top loaders with no problems.

I did it with mine and they looked a little worn/faded on some of the edges. I would only wash gentle on COLD. Don't put them in the dryer. Mine were a one-time thing because I couldn't stand the smell. I wouldn't do it again since I can tell it does cause some minor wear.

I wouldn't do it. Taking care of them before they get to that point is the important thing.

I was everything except for my shoulder pads and gloves in a machine.

I wash my gloves by hand and only way to really know what you're doing.

What do you use for soap?

I've bought some used gloves and have a procedure that I use to clean them before use. And I've done the same with my own gloves now and then. I fill the sink with warm water and a mix of Oxyclean and Woolite. Then I'll soak the gloves in there and use a washcloth to lightly scrub the exterior, and just use my hands to lightly rub the palms inside and out. If there are any discolorations or marks then I may use a toothbrush anywhere on the exterior except for the palms. Then I'll rinse them thoroughly with warm water and tip them up to drip dry until I then put them on a rack in front of the fan to dry. When nearly dry I'll also hit them inside with a mist of Febreze. The gloves clean up very well and as long as you dry them right away it won't cause any issues. This routine works like a charm.

Washed my nylon CCM Pro's in a washer, cold cycle, with color safe bleach to get a good amount of blood off of them, afterwards i let them air dry, no issues whatsoever
