Easton Skate Question

Recommended Posts

I just received a pair of Easton SE10 skates that I bought from HockeyMonkey.com. I have size 14 feet, so after looking at the size charts and talking to a few people, I ordered a pair of size 12.5s. As I opened the packaging, I got a bad feeling as I noticed a label on the box saying skate size 12.5 and right underneath it NA shoe size 13.5. That feeling was confirmed when I tried them on...I had to curl my toes to get my foot in the skate...too small.

So, my question is: As I get ready to send them back and find another model (no size 13s in stock), do Easton's skates ALL go a size smaller or was it just this model? I rather not spend extra cash shipping these back, choosing another model in 13s, pay for shipping back to me, only to find out that the new ones are too big...

Thanks!

I did read that earlier...I wasn't too enthusiastic about buying them online either. I tried all the brick and mortar shops around me with no luck.

My experience with Easton skates is that I found the EQ50 were 1 1/2 sizes down on my foot and the S17 are now 1 size down. I say now because the S15 was 1 1/2 sizes down. Hope this helps. But as stated; It's not the brand, it's the fit.

I wear size 10.5 US shoes and wear a size 8.5R S17

My old ones fit me perfect, I did however buy a new pair and they are a bit too short. I'm assuming this is because the heel lock is so crazy on them that there is a lot of padding in the back there, causing you to not slide fully back in the boot. I would've tried breaking them in a bit more before deciding that they are too small, unless it was by a huge amount. My current/used S17s fit me perfectly while my new ones are a bit small at the moment :)

Thanks for the replies...I'm gonna try them on again and see if they are any different banging the heel in and such. I'd much rather be proven wrong so I can use them tomorrow night as opposed to wearing the Herman Munster rental skates again...

most likely the only retail skate that will fit your foot is vapor x5.0 old x40. they come stock in a 13E, 14E and 15E. From the sounds of it you'd be in the 13E.

Or, you can drop around 650+ on custom skates, up to you. But that's going to be your most cost effective option.
