Rogue Hockey.....Anyone heard of them?

Recommended Posts

I received an email from this company and decided to look it up online http://www.roguehockeydesigns.com/

I was looking at some gloves and immediately noticed the gloves looked an awful lot like the deceased company SANDE's gloves. Checked out where they are located and low and behold the same area as SANDE was.

Have a look and see if I am not crazy here!

I think a lot of the fly by night hockey companies had similar looking gloves if they tried to do them. They all probably just used the same OEM and picked from their designs to slap their name on.

Well unlike hockeytron, at least they claim to have unique design features:

"Unlike other hockey gloves, our fingers are actually separated from the glove."

I'm not even sure what that means. Perhaps it refers to the palm side of the glove, where the material for the fingers is different than that for the rest of the palm.

Sounds sort of like the 'trigger-finger' from Sande hockey gloves

Sande had my email at some point, not sure where else Rogue would have got it from.

Ah, now I see. So the fingers are in their own little pockets below the padded fingers? Is this effective?

You're not crazy. That is the Sande Glove called 'The Show'. Exactly. I know this because I picked up a pair off Ebay. And yes, the fingers do have their own pocket and do flex somewhat independent of the finger pad (but not in a bad way). I really like the glove, it's very comfortable and protective. But the palms wear out quickly. They need to go to a full overlay instead of the little 'sew ons' they use.

Forgot to mention that these gloves fit like a pair of 'isotoners':-). The most form fitting glove I've ever tried on.

I used the Max Pro back a few years ago too and really liked them. SANDE grew and survived longer than a lot of the other small lines but some bad breaks in product availabilty and lost a lot of customers and a lot of credibilty in the industry.

Too bad really as the gear was awesome! The Show pants are wicked too!
