Upsizing tuuks?

Time for new steel in my one95's so it got me thinking about up sizing my tuuks. I have 265 I believe on my skates now (7.5d) and would like to move up to a 272 (from size 8d). Seeing as how my LHS is not so good, I wanted to ask if there would be any issues or conflicts with mounting holes. Thanks in advance for any help

272s are doable. Depends on the holder but in some cases new holes may be required. No biggie. If you have the equipment to mount, drilling holes is easy :)

Just use lightspeed 2.1 steel for the 265 holder it will get you close to the 272 steel.

You can definitely fit 272s on a 7.5 without any overhang. Just make sure that whoever mounts them has the toe sticking out the correct amount. That's the most important part with going longer IMO. You'll want it to be very close to where your 263's were. Maybe a hair further forward.

Thanks for the help guys. Just have to find a shop I can trust to do it. Might try to hit up the local AHL trainers before camps start.

What are you expecting you will get for performance by making this change?

It's definitely down to pp, but I wouldn't do it, chances are you're gonna mess your stride and your skates will a be bottom-heavier. You can still go back to regular LS2 to adjust the length of your steel.

Knowing that the 7,5D get the same holder size as the 7D (and 7,5EE get 8D's holder size) they'll look better for sure at least if it's done properly, make sure it won't overhang.

The only reason for wanting to upgrade is it bugged me since day one how short the holders were coming from size 8 7000's. Always felt "short" no matter the profile. May even go back to custom plus holder, not sure yet.
