best wheels for icecourt

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

We are moving up in the world in Hong Kong! Getting Icecourt in 5 weeks! Just in time for the Hong Kong Inline Cup 2011! What are the best wheels for icecourt? We had some samples of both icecourt and sportcourt at the rink for a bit and I was surprised at how different they were from each other. Any advice is appreciated.

I play on IceCourt 3 times per week and I cannot say enough nice things about the TRON Giga HZ wheels.

I've been using Labeda Millennium wheels for years (on Sport Court) and noticed that after our rink changed to IceCourt I started chunking them after a few games. Pretty tough to swallow when brand new wheels fall apart after a couple games.

I recently changed to the TRON Giga HZ wheels and have not had a single cut or chunk problem after about 18 games.

Super cheap price.

Great quality.

Free bearings.

I don't think I will EVER change to another wheel.

how's the grip with TRON wheels compared to other price point wheels?

Wow, I have never heard of those. So do all the XXX wheels react the same (RR, RV, Labeda Addictions etc?) Also how much to you weigh? Do most people you skate with find the same? Thanks very much

I weigh around 175 lbs. And skate between 3-6 times a week on icecourt. I was using millenniums and wanted to try something else. I am now skating on rink rat splits. I have had them for over a month, and they show very little wear. I was starting to chunk millenniums in 2 Weeks. I am loving the performance too. Best wheel I've ever used.

So the Addictions dont chunk on icecourt cause they have a hard layer on the outside? Tempting to try those but they are so expensive. Hesitant to try the splits cause the last RR I bought broke down so fast.

Talking of addictions, I realise there are 2 different kinds red and Orange. Does anyone know what the white ones are like, are the the same as the red or Orange ones.

The white ones are the same durometer as the Orange ones, but use mini 688 bearings instead of standard 608 bearings.
