Lidstrom/Getzlaf for Danglers?

Recommended Posts

Been researching everyone's opinion on the lidstrom/getzlaf curve, but all the past posts seem to address its shooting/passing properties and not so much regarding how it is for stickhandling. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on it. For reference, I'm curently using a p92 and am just looking to experiment. Thanks!

The depth of the curve, openness of the face, and square toe will make it feel different while doing it than with the P92, but nothing you can't get used to.

I always wondered why people made such a big deal about certain curves being best for certain things. Use it for long enough to get used it and you could probably shoot with a garden hoe.

Basically, don't worry about it. My guess is that the square toe will throw you the most.

The biggest difference will be the lack of rocker on the bottom of the Lidstrom. The bottom of the blade is much flatter than the Sakic/P92 type curves.

robbie schremp uses it, pretty nice hands  along as you use it often anything can be used

Yeah, I remember when he was coming up w/ london reading that he used a retail lids. Also, from what I've seen (albeit on youtube) itan chavira (roller guy/sick hands) seems to also use a lidstrom-ish blade. Still always been wary of trying it just b/c a few well known danglers us it b/c I don't have even 1/10 the skill they do. But I have become intrigued by all the positive things members here have said about it as being good for shots and saucer passes, but I also don't want to give up any puckhandling ability. I have little to spare as it is :)

its basically a heel with square toe, coming from mid sakic you will need to get used to it

drury users will have easier time switching

similar to what the posts above have said.

I have interchanged between my easton lidstrom and a p92 curve on my bauer. I find after handling the puck for a bit, i am okay to go.

one difference is, i find with the p92 I can cup the shot more of the mid/toe area, and the easton lidstrom its more of the heel to toe with a rolling effect.

hope that makes sense and helps.

if anything just shoot around and stick handle with it to get used to it. I can stick handle/shoot and pick corners the same with either blade.
