Warrior Projekt Elbows

Recommended Posts

I've searched around here for a quite a bit haven't found anything that can help me. I currently use Bauer Vapor XXV elbows size Med and want to try something new. I was looking into the Warrior Projekt's since hockey monkey has them for a decent price. Has anyone had both of these or the Warriors and can comment about the fit? No LHS around me carry Warrior pads. Also I don't have huge forearms and Vapor XXV's fit nice and snug.

I have the Warrior Projekt elbow pads and I've never used the Vapor pads, but used to use Nike Bauer One90s and Nike V14 pads. I used large in the Nike and Bauer pads and went down to mediums in the Projekts. The Projekts are very light, mobile and comfortable, but I found the large to be too big/loose - I could pull them off without undoing the straps, but the mediums fit nicely.

Warrior makes all of their pads (save for shins) bigger than other brands. If you fit into a M in the Vapor pad; you should look at the SR Small in the Warrior

edit : unsure of the pants, can anyone chime in on those?

I've been using Jofa and RBK/Jofa for the last 8 years or so.... I'll never go back. So much lighter and more mobile without sacrificing protection. The elbow lock is the best feature; they don't slide like my 7k's did.

As for sizing, I'm about 6'1" with long arms and wore a Medium (Size 5) in the RBK/Jofas. I can wear a Large comfortably with these.

I have worn Jofa 9144's, RBK 7K pro, Reebok 10K's and now the Warrior Projekts.. I find the Projekts way more comfortable, lighter and much more mobile than the Jofa/RBK's.. although the Projekts are nowhere near as protective.

I am wearing the Projekt since July. Comfort-wise they are incredible, but I have had a problem with the stitching coming undone within 5-6 games. they still work fine, but the edge material is falling off of the center strap.

I had the same issue with the stitching on the middle straps, but my Aunt was kind enough to run them through her sewing machine almost a year ago and they've been fine ever since. I could've tried to sew them by hand myself, but it would've taken me longer (it only took my Aunt less than 5 minutes for the two straps) and I'm not sure it would've help up as well.

Good to know, I will have my mother in law stitch them up.

I've been wearing a pair of Projekt elbows for about six months. They are very light and comfortable. I am 6'2" and have thin arms, the medium fits me well, without any slipping. I have also started to notice the stitching along the trim of the center strap starting to unravel. Also, not the most protective elbow cap, if you fall directly on your elbow, you'll feel it.

I wish the pads weren't white, I've seen some sweat rings around the forearm padding. Not a big deal, but I wash my pads regularly, and I still see some discoloration after a few skates.
