His goal coming off the wing was nice.

I got to watch a bit of the game yesterday, I think Gustavson had another good game from what I saw. I know there were 2 goals waved off because of goaltender interference, and one of them it seemed as though he made the save with his glove and then it went in when he got pushed in and it fell out of his glove.

Nice comeback win.

on a side note, why does it seem as though Phaneuf is losing his "mean" edge. He seems to be getting pushed around a bit in squirmishes. Dubinsky was tossing him around last night.

Last night it was still a really close game when Dion and Dubinsky got into it a bit, so my guess would be that Dion didn't want to take a dumb penalty. Not sure if it's so much of him losing his meanness or just him maturing and trying to be a leader who leads by example.

I loved the Mike Brown fight, didn't even expect it, sorta just came out of nowhere.

that was a very fun game to watch.

was on the edge of my seat for most of it. Gustavsson had a very strong game, and it was nice seeing the leafs play really hard in front of him and going down to block the shots.

Mike Brown had a good game today, he seemed to be getting quite a few chances.

It's good to see them to start playing as a complete team. Guys are playing their roles and it's coming together pretty nicely. Lets just hope they can stay consistent and Reimer can come back and be in the same form as he was before the injury.

Wow - so much for being on a roll after last night!!!! And man.... is this the return of the one softie a game for Gustavsson...... every goalie should stop that one. Of course - turned out to be the game winner.

So whats the deal with Schenn? He playing hurt, or just in a slump?

Sure Schenn isn't playing great, but not sure why a lot of people are onto him so much this year. Guy is a +1 and has 3 points, along with 20 blocked shots. Seems like a pretty good shut down guy to me for only playing around 12 min per game.

They keep letting Schenn and Komisarek play, despite making glaring mistakes, while sitting Cody Franson in the pressbox. He played fine in his limited time we've seen him. Sure, they are big contract guys, but give the guy a chance. Meanwhile, last year he was in Nashville's top 4. put up good offensive numbers. I think him speaking out in media about being a scratch, etc., pissed Ron Wilson off. It's not like they are sending out an allstar cast of D every night. The defense is a lot better on paper than it's been on ice so far, and of course the PK sucks - AGAIN!!!!!

I agree. Komisarek needs to be moved, just a 240 pound pilon. Does little physically, almost plays like he is scared and has never been the same player since Lucic beat him. I think he lost his confidence and also quite a bit of his edge but not just that, every time he gets the puck its almost as if hes afraid and dishes it off as soon as possible. I wish they would play Franson, great offensive upside, size and hes in a contract year. I know hes still a restricted free agent but wouldn't it be nicer to resign?

that was a horrible game to watch last night. Maybe some time in the Minors might benefit Gustavsson as well. As far as Schenn goes, i think he is doing fine, but his playing time is down considerably from last season. Alot less time, doesnt give him time to get into the game, and then a few mistakes here and there. He will play himself out of it.

As far as the Komisarek goes, unless they are playing him to show him off for a potential trade, i can't see why he is playing more than Cody Franson. Cody Franson can pitch in on the powerplay as well.

Either way, aside from the fourth line and the GKM line (at times), the leafs got badly outplayed last night. Nice to see Florida playing well though. Versteeg also seemed like he was on a mission last night.

Not a great run recently, but Beauchemin for Lupul, Gardiner and a 4th is looking like the trade-rape of the year at the very least.

so the leafs sent down Gardiner for one game, then recalled him.

did one of the leafs defencemen get hurt? or is this just in response to the poor showing on Saturday Night and the lack of PP production (and puck movement) the games he has been out?

Read a few different blogs and articles thinking that he has been sitting to show off guys like Schenn and Franson more as Burke is trying to move a defencemen for a forward.

As far as him being called back up, I'm not sure. Unless there is a deal in place that is just waiting for a few pieces to be finalized.

Kadri and Schenn are both healthy scratches for tonights game...Reimer is Starting.

Unless its Getzlaf, for kadri and Schenn, don't do it Burke.

OR, hopefully they are being scratched so they can slow the game down and see it from a different prespective (and they are shopping Komisarek?)

Either way, I hope this isnt a backwards trade. Kadri is a good player, but I can't see the benefit in giving him 3rd line minutes and playing him with connolly (both like to have the puck on their sticks)...play him with a young player that likes to shoot (possibly Kulemin).

Or send him back down and let him develop. I really hope they don't give up on that kid and don't give up on Schenn.

Something is up for sure. Burke has pulled off some great deals and right now I feel pretty confident he wont make a deal unless it makes the team significantly better.

As for shopping Komi. I hope so, but can't see anyone wanting that massive overpayed contract.
