Lightweight pants recommendation

Recommended Posts

I've been wearing my Easton S9 pants for a few years now and am thinking of going 'lighter', both in weight and protection. I play in a intermediate/advance beer league and I just think the S9 are too heavy/bulky and I'm looking at the One80 or X40 pants... Also I'm used to suspenders so buttons are important. What are other lightweight but also semi-protective pants under $100? I hear the S13's are pretty light? Any experience with S13's or EQ50?

I too, play in an intermediate level beer league and use a 5k. Not a ton of protection , but solid. Very durable too , Ive had mine since 07. I think the 5k now is a step below the 07-08 5k , so the 7k would probably be the equivilant. Ive had the one 60 and one 80 on and didnt like how high the spine protector came up , but through the legs and hips they felt way good.

good luck!

I have 7k pants and dont notice them when on the ice. It was between the 7k and the one80 and I went with the 7k as it just felt better on me. The one80 did feel lighter then the 7k though.

If you're open to trying a girdle, the X60 is like having nothing on. Complete freedom and very adjustable. I took one puck on the inner thigh, aside from that, very protective.

I've been thinking about girdles for a while now, but every time I look at them, they just seem too light in certain spots... Although the X60 girdles do seem more protective than most girdles I've seen, but again, I've been wearing suspenders most of my life and that's one major reason I have not switched to girdles...

Best I have ever used in terms of lightweight and protection are Tackla's 4000 girdles. They feel like wearing nothing, so light ! Protection-wise they are great, too.

I switched to a Vapor MBP8 girdle a few years ago and can't go back. It's like wearing nothing! But the protection in the back of the pants are not very good, so I got ZoomBang to custom sew in their padding into my jock shorts to compensate.

I love girdles! I have an x60 girdle and I just just bought a pair of pants to try them out again and now I'm thinking of just sticking to girdles. The just feel so much more comfortable and lighter.
