Lee-Bro

Avalanche vs. Blue Jackets broadcast from 10/13/2011

Recommended Posts

So I tune into this game via Center Ice, and I swear I feel like I'm at an ECHL game. The feed going out is in-house feed complete with Kiss Cam, intermission fan contests, etc. The announcing sounded like radio announcing and sure as heck they say it's the "Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network. (or something like that).

I'm in the Cincinnati market and am wondering how many others saw this?

If there is no local TV or away team isn't broadcasting, Center Ice will occasionally use the in-rink feed with radio set up. This happened a few times last year that I remember watching. The game that came to mind for me was the Thrashers - Predators game last year when the South was covered in snow and the TV trucks had problems setting up due to the ice.

Watching the Blue Jackets this season, I always feel like I'm seeing an ECHL game... They are looking sorry so far.

What part of Cincy, Lee-Bro? I'm in Oakley; play beer league at Northlands/Sports Plus.

The hawks and yotes game looked terrible tonight. I couldn't even watch it and I like both teams. No HD on Comcast means no Center Ice for me this year.

You'd think for the amount these companies charge for center ice they could get all the games in HD. This is 2011 afterall. Luckily for me with DirecTv a good majority are in HD. Seems like anytime I watch (try) a Flames game its so terrible I give up pretty quickly and go to something else.

They figure nobody will leave over it and a lot of cable companies don't have the bandwidth to dedicate 12 HD channels to the relatively small number of people that are going to buy the package.

I'm over in NKY, Ft. Thomas to be exact.

I play in the same beer league, Upper 4, "007's."

You?
