One way to keep people off ice during resurfacing......

Wow, has that rink never heard of background checks? How do you let a guy who has been convicted of drunk driving THREE times get behind the wheel of heavy machinery?

Actually in a similar situation a court ruled that DUI laws do not apply to zamboni's because they are not intended to be used on public streets, nor can they carry passengers. I'd assume he'll loose his job, but I doubt it'll turn into grounds for another DUI.

A man was once convicted of DUI because he was driving his ride-on mower down the street while hammered and I've also heard tell of a man arrested for DUI on his way home from the golf course.............in a golf cart.

The Zamboni was not on a public street. That said, it all depends on the way the law is worded in that state.

Can you imagine all the golf course DUI possibilities if the law is worded to allow DUI for operating under the influence at a business?

Up here, you can get a DUI driving an atv in the wilderness, a snomachine on a frozen river, your boat on the lake, and I beleive you can even be ticketed for driving a bike intoxicated. Does not matter one bit if you are on a public street.

If any of you have read the book "Super Freakonomics"...it is interesting that you are statistically more likely to die WALKING drunk than you are when DRIVING drunk. Not that that makes driving drunk ok or anything. lol.....

Yeah, but how many times has a drunk walker killed an innocent person?
