Head Shaving

Recommended Posts

Hey all!!

I am looking to start shaving my head in the near future. There is an event coming up in my area for the make a wish foundation that will make a donation to their cause if I do it. It is something I have always thought of doing, I have just been a bit chicken I guess, so this event will get me to jump. I ask because I am wanting to know what works and what doesn't for after I do upkeep myself.

Anyone using the headblade products? Do they work or is it a gimmick?

Am I better off just using a regular razor?

I know a lot will be trial and error for what will work for me, but thought I would get a bit of advice from those of you with experience.

Thanks!!

I've been shaving my head for more than 10 years.

I shave my head every day (if I go more than a day I start to develop bumps when it grows back (not a good look.) HeadBlade is actually legit - it keeps the blade at the right angle and following the contours of your head.

One thing I have discovered (and it's a money saver) is that the more blades on a cartridge, the worse the shave. I use 2-bladed Sensor or Sensor Excel cartridges with the HeadBlade (the adapter comes in the package)

I shave "twice" as well - after done with HeadBlade, I use a Good News Custom Plus disposable for a second shave.

I don't go to the wood but I always buzz it in the shower and shave my face to, a few years ago I read it help with sensitive( which I have) so I tried it and have never gone back. U can buy a mirror with a suction cup at pretty much any bed and bath store or even walmart. For me it's the best way, no mess, skin irritation, and honestly no clogged drains, just don't get the clippers wet and keep them nice and oiled.

There's some great info in this thread.

I've been shaving my head for 17 years or so. Headblade is a good option and I agree with JR, the less blades the better. You can use any razor on your head but I think overall Headblade is a good option to try. Shaving in the shower with a mirror is my chosen way of shaving.

Just remember, hair will always grow back! For such an awesome cause, do it! When I shaved my head, I used the 4 razor and JR is right, more blades, the harder it gets.

Little advice, shave a few days before playing. Once that sweat gets in, it burns.

Good luck and lets see the new do before and after!
