Small Hole - Should I re-palm my whole Eagle glove?

Recommended Posts

Should I re-palm my whole (top-hand) Eagle PPF glove? I would have to send it to Eagle for a few weeks. The alternatives are have a small patch placed underneath it or leave it alone. Problem with leaving it alone is my pinky keeps slipping out and could make it a lot bigger. Has anyone ever have this done and/or specifically by Eagle? Any suggestions are welcome... I know it's small but they're like my favourite piece of equipment! That or my Grafs...

I have to agree. either just do an easy patch repair or have it sewn up. I sent a pair back to Eagle to get repalmed back in December and they did an outstanding job.

basically I had a pair of Rivet's Sabre pro stocks repalmed with MSH2:

I think it took something like 2 weeks and cost (incl. shipping) around $60.

Thanks shoeshine. Maybe for now I'll do a quick fix and then get them re-palmed in the summer. I wouldn't have to get both gloves re-palmed right(as Eagles uses MSH2 Palm it should be same)? My other one is fine but I wouldn't want them feeling inconsistent with one another...

Anyone try the Palm Saver product for something like this? I've checked out the website, seems easy enough...

I too just recently had a similar dilema with my Easton EQ5's. I was going to get the palmsaver or possibly get it re-palmed, but first decided to buy a piece of microfiber and sew it on. I have only one game under my belt since doing it, but it held up. Tonight will be game 2 with it. If my sew job doesn't work then I'll try the palmsaver, if that fails...repalm.

I think I am going to do the exact same thing! In the summer however I will likely get them redone properly by Eagle. I just got a response from them. Only $22.50 before tax to get the one glove done! Without shipping of course but I mean come on, for MSH2 Palms... Another reason to get Eagle gloves.

What, you didn't ask for MSH3?

I haven't really been able to find the difference between MSH2 vs MSH3. Would I really want a different material on one glove compared to the other? Doesn't look like there would be a major difference - from other sports sites for MSH3 it just says "for superior wear and feel". I'll probably just stick with the MSH2 - why ruin a good thing? I did get excited there for a bit...

Ha ha, yeah I just saw the term in their catalogue. Who knows? I love MSH2 too. Hard to imagine there's much improvement.

Don't want to resurrect an old thread, but was wondering if anyone has sent their gloves back to Eagle to get repalmed?

Basically wondering if it's worth getting them repalmed or just buying new eagle PPF gloves?

My gloves about 4-5 years old now. They have a few holes in the top hand. Biggest one was right in the middle which I patched but even that is starting to wear.

If the glove itself is in good shape (not much smell etc.) Then yeah, its worth just repalming.

A repalm is usually between $40-$70. A new PPf is around $190.

if you can't get an 09 or older PPF I'd say get them repalmed. Eagle gloves have changed a lot the last few years. the new ones, imo aren't near as nice as the older ones.

I've had gloves repalmed by Eagle and they did an outstanding job.

Good point. Any way to tell at LHS whether or not they are 09 or older?

Look to see where the Canadian flag is positioned. If it's on the outside of the glove it's a pre-Vaughn buyout glove and those are the ones you want to get. The post-Vaughn buyout gloves, with the Canadian flag on the inside of the glove, are less desirable.
