isnipepipe 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2012 Does anyone know how he pads perform? I found a pair for 50$ and was wondering how these would hold up? Are they any good? Am I getting a good deal at 50$?
wrangler 157 Report post Posted April 1, 2012 Try the advanced search function, search for "Farrell shoulder", and search only in titles -- you'll find several threads. You can get to advanced search by clicking on the thing that looks like a gear, to the right of the search bar magnifying glass with the green background. markstmartin89 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2012 For $50 yes, matters what kind of shape they are in, but yes, very comfortable, and protective.
qmechanic 17 Report post Posted April 2, 2012 I have the H500 and they're great except that they are too short. I have zero stomach protection. If you get Farrell pads, don't play in a checking league or block slap shots.
ochockey 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2012 i like the weight of them. They are very breezy and arent comparable to regular shoulder pads. The shoulder caps are HUGE so i took them off. Overall fairly good shoulder pads
AIREAYE 248 Report post Posted May 16, 2012 Say, whatever happened to this company? I did a search and another member mentioned that the business kicked out Dan Farrell or something? I also heard that they were bought out, anyone know what happened?
JR97 2 Report post Posted May 16, 2012 From what I understand, they were bought out and basically shelved. A guy I play with was listed on the Farrell website as a dealer and thus gets quite a few people asking where they can pick up a set. He's been working at possibly trying to get them back in production. Either way, for $50 you can't go wrong if you found a set in your size for a niche item like these that are hard to find. bg9 12 Report post Posted May 16, 2012 I would buy a size down. I normally wear XL shoulder pads, at least I did with various Bauer and CCM pads. I bought Farrells in XL, and they are HUGE. Wishing I bought L now.
cooperalls 4 Report post Posted May 16, 2012 They definitely run big, I'm a L in CCM shoulders, I'd have bought a M in the Farrell's, and actually almost fit into a S.

Kylehttp://www.prohockeylife.com/ - They don't ship most products to the US, but Farrell isn't on the do not ship list. http://www.prohockeylife.com/shipping-policy-page-9/language/enhttp://www.justhockeytoronto.com/ - you could contact them and ask if they ship to you in the US. They're a member of the Modsquad marketplace. You could also try Sears - they should ship to you: http://www.sears.ca/...ult/US-41800339
Kdubya27 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2012 Called Farrell directly and they referred me to pro hockey life so next step is to call them. Thanks for the follow up althoma1 you've been super helpful over the last few weeks.Kyle

Thanks for the follow up althoma1 you've been super helpful over the last few weeks.KyleNo problem. It looks like I was wrong about Pro Hockey Life not shipping to the US at all. They don't ship Bauer, CCM, RBK, Mission or Warrior across the border, but they should ship other brands like Farrell: http://www.prohockey...e-9/language/enI'd probably still look around to see if you can find them cheaper, but if you really want them and money isn't an issue then Pro Hockey Life does seem to have H600's in stock. I like mine, but I'm not sure I'd pay the full $159 + tax and shipping retail price for them.

KyleYou're around an inch taller than me and a similar weight. I wear a large H600 and find it fits well. I used to use a medium H500 and worked because the pads are very adjustable with all the velcro, but I prefer the large because it gives just a bit more stomach and bicep coverage than the mediums. The H600s are also a touch lighter and the black obviously won't discolour like the white.Personally, I'd try to find a pair of black H600s if you can, but if you can get the H600s for under $60 shipped that'd be a decent deal (and you could always resell those if you came across some H600s later). $35 does seem like a lot for shipping if it's within the US. If he's an international seller then that number may make more sense.
