Music and the NHL - What Do/Don't You Like?

Recommended Posts

Nashville uses Tim McGraw "I Like It, I Love It" after a goal...that's not even a new country song...that's over 10 years old.

If I recall, the lyrics were changed for that version.

I don't get country how does it pump you up for a hockey game? LOL everytime I listen to country its sad and depressing.

Most of the "modern country" is pop music or "light rock". In fact, a lot of guys that were in early 90's traditional style rock bands are touring musicians in country bands these days.

Dislike: "Everybody clap your hands".

Not a fan either....Although, not so bad if you have 18-20,000 people who will actually react and clap along. in rink that has 3,200...kinda falls flat....any of those organ charge, or clap alog things work better with a big, into it crowd.

I always wondered what happened to Del Amitri...lol

Nickelback is terrible IMO but also is all the other crap that's in the "charts" these days. I've never been on par with the tastes of the majority and I've had to deal with it. I've never liked the poppy "radio" tunes, even bands I like I usually like the songs never played on the radio the most. I'm not sure it ever changes, the NHL could find lots of better music but the problem is the majority of fans wont know what it is and all they want is familiarity and popularity

No longer having to listen to Nickelback's catalog of songs that all sound exactly the same will be my favorite thing about the end of this season. I'll miss the hockey, not the Nickelback.
