Slimmest fitting/lightest weight Shin guards?

Recommended Posts

I need new shins now and im looking for the lightest weight, slimmest fitting shin guards. Im not going for much protection, just lightweight, and slim fitting. Anyone got advise as to what shins i should check out? Thanks guys.

Light Weight? High end will be the CCM CL gear. They actually don't fit too wide compared to the Total Ones or Reeboks. Though I would say that Vapors are more narrow at the bottom than the CL's. Best bet if you can't try em on would be to check out some pictures of them on the web.

Some of the Warrior pads fit slim. They're a little expensive, though, and I hear that the only ones that won't fall apart quickly are in the uppermost tier of their lineup.

CCM shins have been made to be pretty low profile for a while, but the last few years they've had some protection and durability problems throughout their entire lineup of protective. I've got two pairs of practically new 2009(2010 maybe?) Vector 04's in my closet with cracked plastic (impact stress) and loose foam supports inside the shells. Shame, because I love their fit. One anecdotal point: I've heard some guys say CCM has improved on these problems this year and actually really love the CL's.

Stevens referee shin guards. They mold to your legs and offer about 3/4 protection around. I've taken some hard shots to them while on the ice and they stood up.

The only problem I have is the lack of padding in the knee, you may want to buy a cheap knee pad to supplement.

The current Warrior lineup isn't slim as before. If the OP can find some Hitmans, Hustlers or Methods, they might work as those were very slim.

The new Easton Stealth lineup are perhaps some of the slimest pads I've seen.

I have a set of Vapor x60's and use them for ice and roller, very slim fit, nice adjustments to them and really lightweight compared to the old CCM's I had before these. Great protection from falls and slashes, I have felt some Clappers through them with the some bruissing... but thats partially from me choosing to block shots.
