Hey guys,

Long story short, I was cut by a skate along my wrist and severed a nerve and a tendon or two about six weeks ago.

As I start to slowly come back to playing, I was wondering if they make some sort of shirt with kevlar or some other material in areas that are prone to being cut i.e. neck/wrist area. I have looked into the bauer shirts with the integrated neck guards but those do not appear to have any wrist protection. I have also seen the Tuff-n-Lite products as well.

I have not found a shirt with some form of beefed up wrist protection and I figured that if anyone knew of such a thing, it would be you guys. Worst case is is that I do some form of wrist guard/Maltese neck guard combo (which I have heard and read very good things about.) The members on the forum know a whole lot more than me, so throw any and all suggestions at me!

Sorry if I sound a little too over protective.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

What about traditional plastic plate/terry band slash guards? I had somebody step on my wrist many years ago and they did a great job of preventing a cut. They are cheap too.

Like these? http://www.totalhockey.com/searchresults.aspx?per_page=16&kws=Wrist%20Guards

I doubt they make one, but have you ever heard/seen of a shirt with an integrated neck guard that has extra wrist protection?

Thanks

Mission made a shirt with neck and wrist protection. It will be a tough find though it didn't last long.

That is exactly what I am looking for. After a little research, it is called the Mission UL600.

However, like you said, they have been discontinued.

you may want to check out www.evoshield.com. They make pieces that mold perfectly. I ended up picking one up a few weeks ago when I dislocated my thumb and needed extra support. They do make wrist guards also. Look into it. You may need to order online as not many stores are carrying the product yet.

I would buy a compression shirt with the neck guard and sew or have someone sew the wrist guards onto the sleeves

I think that may be the best route to go. The Tuff-n-Lite wrist guards look like they would sew on nicely to a shirt. Acapt91, are the socks really thick or are they pretty thin?

While I love their product, it is neoprene and won't necessarily hold up to cuts.
