they have the old custom plus way of anchoring the blade into the the older. i think that means 2 bolts 1 front one back but i also think i heard something about something magnetic in there i d tho.

The gaps were taken off the first lightspeed once bauer realized that sharpeners were losing fingers trying to stone the damn things. The difference is as stated earlier, the hardware. There are no performance differences, just changes to increase the consistency and reliability of the holder.

lol i was gonna write that too cavs.... in paticular they did it because one guy was stoning it.. caught it on the holder and had to get 24 stitches up his arm.... god only knows how many times ive got cut from those damn holders

and yes u guys are correct... its just the hardware that is different for them because those who do repairs know how damn difficult it was to get the screw into the back....

How do you change the steel now with a bolt in the front of the holder? I thought it was easy with onnly yhte rear bold you just pop off the cap and take that bolt out. Do you have to remove the holder now to change the steel?

The LS steel has a fin that hooks into the front of the holder.

MINT - all you have to do is rest the skate on a table edge - you will never get cut - because your hand will hit the table or counter before it comes in contact with the blade.
