Possibly changing from Graf

Recommended Posts

I have worn Graf skates my whole life and have always been happy until my last pair of g5's. Now that I'm ready to start looking at new skates I'm going to look at my possibilities from other brands. I'm not ruling out another pair of grafs and will see if any of their new models fit me better than this last pair has, but I am wondering if I would have any difficulty changing to something like the Bauer supremes after having never worn anything but Graf? I know the obvious difference in pitch but I can have that fixed easy enough with heel lifts. Thanks for any advice!

Check out the G75's, they are made same materials at total ones, not your old school grafs. I like their liner better than the Bauers. A bit heavier but a real nice graf.

Thanks! I plan on having them on my list to try on when I go to total hockey this week!

back in january i went from grafs to supreme one70's and could not be happier. The skates where so much lighter and I got used to the pitch after like two skates. I may never go back.

Joe I think you are the only person I have ever seen say that the pitch on Vapors and Grafs witha Cobra are anywhere close to each other.

Ah, could be different now. I had 703's for 13 years and they still had TUUK holders back then.

Will be going to check out all the skates on Friday. Was just looking online and I see that the G75 Lite skates are just this years version of the original G75's for the most part. Are the G65's then just a cheaper model with the same fit or are they entirely different? For the price point them seem like a great skate just wish they had the ultra 5000 cobras instead of the 3000.

I just bouhgt Graf 709 and replaced the holders to Tuuk Custom C+, becasue I always used Graf with Tuuk holders and totally happy with new skates.

When you buy new skates, you should consider which holder to use as well.

Had a successful day at Total Hockey and decided on the Supreme One.9's! I wasn't completely comfortable with any of the current Graf models and the One.9's felt far better than anything else. I also couldn't have asked for better service than they gave me and the price they had was much better than I would be able to find anywhere else. Excited to start breaking them in! Thanks to everyone for giving their advice!

Got a chance to skate with them for about an hour and a half today and overall everything felt good! Still have to adjust to the stiffness a little more but am comfortable enough that I plan on wearing them at my camp the rest of the week. So far a satisfied customer!
