Warrior Krown Cage Question

Recommended Posts

I recently got a Warrior Krown Silver Cage for a great price. I have been trying to put it on my E700 and the damn thing just does not want to line up. Wondering if I should just give up or anybody else has had this problem and fixed it some how? I've tried with two kinds of clips so far and still nada. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated! Thanks!

This is the only way I could get it to fit, but I know once I try to lift it to dry my face off, something bad is going to happen, my vision is going to be messed up the whole game or something I can't even fathom right now. Maybe it's one of those cages that just fits with a Warrior helmet?

Have you tried using CCM cage clips? The have an l shape to them so it should solve your problem.

nailed it. You will need some "L" shaped brackets to make this work. CCM used to make them. No clue if they do anymore.

I don't see much reason for widening the bar gap at the top center; that makes me wonder if they did it so it doesn't fit helmets of other brands.

Yeah, CCM L-clips were awesome in this case. This is an Easton thing more than a Warrior thing; Easton has had this issue with cages since the S9/S17.

I know it's not necessarily the same, but it stood out to me. Kind of goes along with the Warrior only fitting Warrior...

Review from Hockey Monkey:

"Awesome helmet. Looks great and very comfortable. I have a Bauer 9000 series I wore out prior. I wear a full face shield and not a fan of cages. When I got this helmet I was concerned and my concern was validated. Unlike most helmets which can have a somewhat universal fit for visors, this Warrior is made so ONLY the cage made by Warrior fits. So you have to wear a cage or half shield unless. It's ridiculous."

It can be solved provided he finds the clips.

The Easton issue was due to how the shell was molded; I can't remember if that was fixed in the S19/E700.

I know that CCM makes "J" clips. Is that the same thing, or did CCM also make "L" clips previously?

Easton isn't that exclusionary. Clips, cage and holes on my sons E700 and Bauer RE-AKT cage lined up well. No problems with that fit at all. I did have to get creative with the J-clips. He's 11 and has a big head and wore a medium 9900 and now an E700. Head was bigger than his face was long. Had to tweak the J-clips to get the chin cup to seat properly.

Surprised Warrior in their first entry into the helmet market didn't conform with what is basically an industry standard. Pretty much every helmet on the market uses the same size/thread screws, cage mounting spacing for screws and j-clip spacing for screw holes. Why would a manufacturer on the outside trying to get in limit the customer's flexibility and options.

Why'd you choose the Warrior cage? Bauer cages are silver, narrower bars, lighter and in Titanium extremely light. You the lightest helmets available, try a RE-AKT cage. The weight is virtually non-existent?

EDIT, re-read and realize price was decision maker. .
