Best stick to buy?

Recommended Posts

I've been reading here that the CCM RBZ's are very fragile around the lower shaft/upper blade region, however, I don't want to buy Easton again because they really screwed me over on my last return. I've also heard though that the RSII has been revamped and is now more durable. Price is not an issue to me so I want to hear what you guys have to say. Is it worth dealing with Eastons return policy? Or take a chance on the RBZ or another brand like Bauer?

The Easton Mako has been really solid for me. It's like an SE16 with a less pingy feel. The graphics or white paint don't hold up that great but i've taken a few hacks and I'm VERY surprised the stick has maintained the same responsiveness and reliability as it had when I first bought it.

If I could, I'd buy 50 Makos. I've had the stick for 3 months now, and I've been playing 2-3 times a week more or less. I don't take a lot of slappers though.

The Bauer Nexus 1000 has ridiculously good balance and is very freaking light. Haven't used one but just from holding the stick in a store my interested was raised.

I've always wanted an SE16 simply because of the graphics, but I've never been able to find one in an Iginla 85 flex since they were discontinued. Also, there is a Bauer P12 (Iginla) curve, but the lie is 7, and thats very high. So I'm stumped here...

Personal preference is way too involved when it comes to picking the "best stick". Most companies high end sticks are very solid sticks, what kind of player are you? What shot do you typically use?

I may suggest the Bauer Nexus, It has variable flex points for wherever you place your hands and its a great stick. Kane curve is probably the closest retail curve to the Iginla. Not the same but its fairly close.

That is marketing BS.

I know that the RBZ truly has that flex profile. The Nexus also has a shaft shape more like that of a G3.

The RBZ doesn't really have a flex profile, it's a straight shaft. It's going to bend in the middle or at your bottom hand if that's below the mid point.

Anyone know if the NXG is going to be any different than the current TotalONE? or how the APX compares to the RS? Because I can order 20 bauer sticks for around $100...

NXG, APX and RS are all very different sticks, that flex and shoot very, very differently. There are a ton of topics on each of those sticks, you might want to read some of them.

i dont think you are going to get good opinions on the RS to base a decision off of. the old version was trash (imo) and unless someone has a sample or early release of the rsii its all just speculation.

I've held the RSII and the grip version feels waaaaaay too sticky. It feels like the double grip you can order from Warrior, but it felt much more balanced than the original RS.

The Easton MAKO has been a significant stick, as you hear from the recent jam they all seemed to have held up well and so has mine. The Bauer Nexus is also very durable, about as good as my APX.

Check out some of the reviews for the new Miken sticks. I liked the Razor Z9 better than anything I've ever used. When I need to buy another stick, I'm going to get one of the top end Mikens.

+1 for Miken sticks, I've read more and more people liking them.
