Best stick to buy?

Recommended Posts

You keep complaining about Easton's return policy, why dont you elaborate as to why.

I've found Easton to be more than accepting when it comes to sticks being returned.

I would go with a somewhat proven stick such as a nexus or apx or something along those lines instead of going with a stick that may have serious problems...

I also have found Eastons return policy great. The Mako, though, not so much.

I broke an EQ50 this past season right around the time the mako was coming out. Actually, I applied for my RA number the day after the Mako came out. Anyways, I send it in and I get it back a week or two later, except they sent me an M5. I called them up and asked why and they said,"at the time I purchased the stick, it would have been a clearance item and their sending me a stick of equal value." but that's not true, nor does it make any sense since Easton makes you send in a receipt which showed very clearly that I paid retail price for the EQ50. Me, as well as my brother, have had a problem with Easton's return policy. They also sent him back an EQ30 for an broken RS.

Likely, they did not have anymore EQ50's for warranty replacements. They sent you a stick that was valued at the current retail price of the EQ50.

Chances are the stick wasn't broken by a manufacturing defect anyway. Should consider yourself lucky they replaced it at all.

I can only comment on the sticks I have tried (easton, bauer, warrior, graf) but this year the best two all around sticks are the Nexus and the APX. They just have the best feel/balance and they both have pop.

As for return policy when i broke my EQ50 they sent me a RS...

Please note there are a lot of good sticks out there now a days I just have not tried them all but, Bauer wowed me at the trade show.

That's odd that someone would like both of those sticks as they both play very, very differently.

I like the way both of them play. Just because they don't play similar doesn't mean a person will play that much differently with them.

Release was slower with the nexus, but was a great powerful release. Apx was a quicker snap, but only had the same powerful feeling if i dropped my lower hand and really focused on loading it.

I have the feeling this topic is useless, starting from the title which for me is already wrong. There are just too many factors to consider. Moreover it appears in this topic, that customer service affects the stick's quality...the saying 99 percent of the game is half mental fits as an answer imho.

Pretty much the same for any topic with "best" in the title.

Not really. The blades are closely related. As for shooting the thing i noticed was the nexus took mean wrist shots cause of how it bends in the middle but they both hit hard when you muscle it.

It was the blades on these two sticks that i felt put them above the rest this year from the sticks i have tried.

Been an easton guy for years, played with warrior as well and liked/loved those sticks for different reasons. This time it's the Bauer blades not the flex profile that make them the best* for the moment.

We give out awards every year.

In my mind the word "best" in hockey seems to change every few months. People just need to put a * beside the word best.

I was at a game a couple days ago and the shop at the rink out of town had probably 30-40 S17's left over, except they were trying to sell them at full retail. Loved that stick. The S17 and vapor XXX lite are easily my 2 favorite sticks I ever used.

Was at my local sports check and picked up an s19 (Getzlaf/100) at 139.99$. Had an 80$ gift card and thought what the heck, let me try a heel curve. But feel wise, nothing beats my se 16.
