Bauer one .8 stick

Recommended Posts

Is the one .8 stick a replacement for the one 100 stick? I know it is new, but has anyone tried it and if so how does it compare to the total one? It is a fused stick and not a true one piece

From my understanding, the one.8 is a direct replacement for the one100 stick. The one.9 is as close to a copy as the one95 as you can get, and the NXG is the T1 with the different blade & a lighter shaft.

This is correct, except the 2012 ONE.8 has a 3K carbon weave throughout the shaft and blade. It makes the ONE.8 lighter, more responsive as well as a little stronger.

Ok just got the One.8. I have not used it yet so no feedback on performance yet, but aesthetically and with the way this stick feels in the hands, it is actually pretty sweet. As Chase mentioned a couple of posts up it is pretty light. Feels a tad bit heavier than the T1 but light nonetheless. We shall see how this performs over the weekend.

Jeff if this plays anything close to a T1, I'd recommend u get this. Will let u know.

Looking for something that plays like a total one, with a little more stick weight

I got 2 skates in over the weekend with this One.8, and I really like this stick so far. I guess we have to wait for the LTR on it (whenever it comes out) for a more accurate feedback but here are some of things that I noticed with it. Hope this will help you in your purchase.....

Compared to the T1 (I used T1's from July 2011 up until late Sepember 2012):

-It is a tad bit heavier but I personally did not notice the weight difference while playing. It is indeed a very light stick and well balanced. I actually liked the weight of this over the APX (which I am currently using). The APX is too light for me.

-The griptac on it is not over done - similar to the T1. The shaft feel in the hands is the same as the T1.

- The blade is where I noticed the biggest difference though. (I was fully expecting a difference in the blade due to the different construction of the One.8 so wasn't surprised). The puck feel on the One.8 blade is softer, or less lively I guess you could say...sorry don't know how to accurately describe it in words, and the T1 blade feels like there is more pop in it (most likely due to the power core).....Essentially, take the puck feel on a T1 and reduce it by about 25% (IMO anyway). However I do not mind the One.8 blade and like it enough to continue to use it.

- Shooting with the One.8 (clappers, wristers and snappers): like I mentioned above, not as much pop off the blade in the One.8 but my shots still came off pretty respectably. I thought the kick was closer to the T1. (shaft cut 2.5 inches on an 87 flex stick)

From what I have experienced so far, (although only 2 games) this seems to be a pretty decent stick. The responsiveness and performance is definitely up there with the other premium sticks. As for the durability, obviously I can not comment on it at this time since I've only used it twice (with no significant markings yet). I am happy with it so far though.

I can get back with more on the durability in the next couple of weeks but not sure how long ur planning to wait. Based on your post, this stick may be what you are looking for. Although I am not going to say that it plays similar to a T1, I will say that it is in the same ball park.

No issues with the "pop" of the stick and feel, but the durability is questionable. Only 6 games in and the grip coating is peeling off just above the hosel. I still prefer it over APX tho. Will see how long the one.8 holds up.

Jeffg how's yours holding up?

Why are you worried about the grip in that area of the stick?

not worried about that area at all, I was just saying that's where the grip is peeling.
