With the arena deal falling apart and Oilers brass having toured Seattle's arena, is a move from Edmonton in their near future?

I hope not. They sell out every game in Edmonton. There's also a ton of oil money in Alberta that would help keep the team in Edmonton. I grew up in Calgary and have a good dislike for the Oilers but I wouldn't want to see them leave.

At the end of the day, the nhl's BOG have the final say if a team leaves a city. I think there is a 0.00000001% the oilers leave edmonton. The mayor asked katz to provide details on WHY he wants the extra 6 mill instead of just asking and not justifying his request.

The same guy is one of the most hard-line owners in the negotiations with the players. I did read somewhere that they are one of the only teams in the league that don't get some type of revenue from their current arena. I forget what it was, but the total was several million dollars a year.
