MR MIZUN0 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2013 For some of you guys in juniors or in college...my team ACHA D3 has a 6 hour bus trip this weekend. I am looking for any advice on how to keep myself occupied on the bus? Any simple games or activities to keep the rest of the boys occupied would be helpful. forbs02 20 Report post Posted February 5, 2013 I take lots of bus rides with my team...We do bus-aroke, which is karaoke over the bus intercom. Generally freshmen/rookies have to sing. Does your bus have tvs? We watch a lot of movies. Most kids have computers/tablets now so they will watch what they want to watch. Law Goalie 147 Report post Posted February 5, 2013 Anything that involves a team dynamic is good: that's why cards are so popular (also, it's hard to play craps and roulette on a moving vehicle), and why wirelessly networked handheld gaming is becoming such a big thing. If you're feeling solitary, start with Homer and Hesiod and work your way up to Pynchon and A.F. Moritz.Sleep is wonderful, but it exposes you to the devilishly idle hands of nearby pranksters. That said, pretending to sleep will get you a good percentage of the rest, while allowing you to turn the tables on aspiring finks.Singing is great, as is joke-telling, especially if you incorporate some sort of punitive system for rookies. Poor performances entail some sort of exercise or menial labour, like being 'juiceboy' in the room, running around the arena singing "I'm a little teapot," sleeping in the hall, etc.: that is, borderline but totally permissible hazing, in the service of the useful destruction of the ego. Excellent performances are rewarded with exemption from juice-duty, not being made to run, and being permitted to sleep in a bed. People who really can't sing should be encouraged to substitute other talents, like magic tricks or lecturing on plant genetics.
